I agree with Bartje, I've read is posts and I understood every word.
You get better improvement by buying sintered brake pads, but as I allready told the TS no point on using them for road driving.
If you want special looking brakes, cheaper to drill them, you can find drill patterns on the internet. This is done on older motorbike discs to improve water and dust clearing AND it looks damned good :) Drilling will cost you about 12 euro for 1 disc. _________________ 2CV, with Visa turbo charged |

How can they give more braking power? The pads squeeze the disc with the same force and on the same surface area, unless they are very hot or more importantly very wet I cannot see how they can improve braking power. Can you explain this please? _________________

If anyone wants to search for standard discs from an other car that could maybe be modified to fit a 2CV, Brembo have a very useful online catalogue in many languages and it is possible to search for a disc by dimension.

Grooves on the disc improve the braking because of the grip effect, the pads are not rigid but elastic, and when the disc is not flat surface but grooved, the pads grips more to the disc, and also wears faster.
The same effect happens with radial-spiral grooves or drills.
Here is a link with a guy brake disk research for a equivalent brake discs (for his car, a 505 turbo) but is a useful how-to-search guide i think: http://leverdie.club.fr/disque_ABR.htm _________________ Snail Forum... distilling good taste.

Looks great !
Lot of questions about your system:
Where does the calipers come from? GS rear brakes? are they suitable for LHM? (Looks like that by the green tab)
Where does the discs come from? its is neccesary to rebore them to fit in the original studs? Is it necessary to mount any adaptor/separator to fit the transmisions?

Nice one Tatay,
Where to purchase the Axel Discs from? I know they can be purchased new in Romania for cheap... How about in Europe?
