I don't quit get what you mean Ebus, but I assume that our crazy belgian is using air cilinders, they are not packed with any kind of bag, but they use a piston. The air chamber i guess is in front of the piston, so when you fill it with air the car raises.

OK OK
I understand
I believe there is a bag like a traditionnal airbag suspension

Thanks

i DO NOT KNOW THE OPERATING PRESSURE FOR NOW BECAUSE AT THE MOMENT THERE ARE NO GAUGES PLACED .

I worked about 8 hours on adjusting the cilinders to european screw size M16 and making the connection rods to connect the cilinders to the suspension arm and to fit the cilinders in place of the original suspension
i simply use LPG valves (this is cheap and 12V)and i use FESTA easy click connections and pressure lines .The prices for the cilinders are 75 euro a piece the compressor i used is VIAIR 550C proffesional compressor and costs 450 euro but there are also cheaper ones on the market prices start at 150 euro then i have a 3 Gallon airtank this costs 85 euro then you need switches to send voltage to the valves .This is all that needs to be bought to build your own airride 2CV .

I can put together a complete kit with all the modifications done to the ones that are interested in it send me a PM then you just have to take out the spring pots and mount the cilinders in this place ,connect the valves and airlines ,mount compressor and switches this can be done in less then a half day .Or i can deliver all the parts needed and you make mods yourselve and this will be cheaper you just pay for the parts .

Hey CB,

do you also get a stiffer suspension by using these cylinders, or will it just get softer then original? this because a lowered 2cv ( and original ones) are nicer to drive with a bit stiffer suspension. I've got a Acadiane as daily driver as well and it is much nicer to drive over speed bumps than a normal 2cv. this is mainly because of the stiffer suspension!

did you also check out regular air bags (coil over?) like used for MC Pherson struts? this system could be hidden in the original suspensionpots! or are these bags not strong enough? although these will probably be more expensive than your cylinders! I've been thinking about doing this for a long time, just never got the guts (and time) to start it! but I'm really excited that someone got it to work! i'm really curious how it handles on the road!

Please keep us updated!

greetzzzzzzzzzzzz

I think CB will retain original shock absorbers. Airbags only supposed to replace the original springs...

with the right shocks it should be OK.

I'd be very interested in purchasing a kit from you, but after the worldmeeting, maybe ?

I know, I meant that there are airbags that can be placed instead the original springs of a Mc Pherson strut see this link: http://www.airassisted.com/Strut-Bags/c84/p212/UVAIR-Aero-Sport/product_info.html I also found cheaper ones, this is jus an example

these could be hidden in the original suspensionpots instead of original springs! not visible from the outside (in some countries you might not be allowed to change the suspension) also with this conversion you will need to keep your original shocks.

I've got many more links about this subject, if someone is interested, i could post them here, unfortunately most companies are in the USA, it will cost shipping stuff over to Europe.

And CB dit you get any further with this project?

greetzzzzzzzz
