Here :
the bar must be approximately 6mm from the arm. so put the bar in place, put the allen key on the arm, and push the bar down til it touches the allen key.

can somebody post a pic of the roll bar and the gearbox? just to verify that if installed it in the right direction :)

but it also works the other way round :)
it's really close to the steering rods and the screw at the box..but it works :)

The photo I posted is definitely the right way to fit the bar...

Didn't take a new picture, but you can see it also on this picture.
We have an original bar and brackets.
Just checked it again, no problem @ all with this way of mounting. (and driving  )
If we'll mount it backwards, the bar can hit the gearbox-support on our car. And that wouldn't be so nice...

thanks, i mounted it also this way.. but it get's at the gear-box.

i talked to some people, they told me that the right way to install it is:
the buckling must go to the back of the car ( jozefs way ).
==>the bar should be between the front-axle gearbox-thing and the gear-box fitting (rubber bearing).
i've also heard that this way sometimes doesnt work ==> on some car's the other ways round works better. ( wouts way )
really interesting..seems to depend on the car..dunno why.
today i put my one in in "jozef-style". with a 5mm allen key! ( 6 = contact!)
so, thanks a lot for you support!! now i'm in expert in putting this fucking bar on 2cvs. its like a puzzle to get it in there!

True, the bending in the rod would not have been there if it was not for the gearbox being in the way of mounting it. At my 2cv, i can't even get the rod in that way (i have struggled in the beginning as well.
Also note, that with serious bumps, the rod can hit the inside fenders, tearing them up bit by bit, well, mine does, but i am riding a bit low perhaps.
And also, every now and then, check if it's still in place, simply by feeling the bottom mounting bracket with your finger. With mine, it seems to get out so every now and then a bit. I can fasten it as much as i want, even got those 8.8 stainless steel bolts, and roughened up the bar and brackets, but still, it keeps coming loose so every while.
