Hey Yori and Jesper! Nice to meet you brothers here too!

Tonight I took out the complete cable-tree (?) Pff, 30 kilos of wires!!
I sure will need some help here later on:

And here you can see the size of the engine and gearbox (without the rearaxle for 4wd) It's big!.. And not much place to fit a brake system on the gearbox.

you are going to run this subaru thecnic on amisuper frame and axles?
First I tought that you will use subaru axles on it.

Are the gardan axle bearings enough strong that you can fit the brakes next to Gbox?

First I was thinking of using the Subaru axles and technic but it is way too wide. (1460mm) so that would be very difficult to use. Or big modifications will be needed.
Now I'm thinking of using indeed the Ami Super axles and so on.

But that can change again! I'll see during the building what would be the best solution.

Bearings of the gearbox for fitting brakes should be strong enough, those Japaneze/Korean guys build technical nice and strong cars that last!

Its imbossible to narrow the axles?

Yeah, I dont doubt that bearings arent strong, but they are not designed
to hold brake power next to them.

I'm not sure jet, I have to take a closer look at them. First I took everything of from the Subaru so it can be moved away. Then I "clean" the engine from everything which I do'nt want to use (such as Airco etc)

Then I will dismantle my Super-2cv and then I will try to fit everything on the chassis and see where it will end... (or not)

Sort of trial and error! :)

Yesterday I took off the 2cv body from the Super chassis and took the Axel-engine out.
I lifted the body and put the engine of the Subaru on the chassis just to look if it will fit a bit nice. And it fits actually very well! :)
It's not too high or too long only a bit wide, but I hope I can fit that under the wings.
Because the Subaru engine itself is a lot shorter dan GS/Axel the place of the driveaxles is very good. Of course there is a small angle but that is original with the Subaru also, so that must be no problem.

I fitted a hood on it (on the good hight etc.) just to get an idea. On the pic's the chassis is very low, this is not due to the weight of the engine but a remain of the "cool" looks the Super 2cv had... Wink

Diek,

How do you pass the control?
Or how did you do that with your 4x4?
Or are you just going to drive with it on the road?

I'm curieus to see the result of 200HP in a 2cv Very Happy
Good luck with it

could you not rebuild the GS box with stronger bearings and use it with an adapter plate ?

I'm sure it could withstand the power...

Hi Zupha, the control is in fact not that difficult because it says 4-cilinder on the papers. So I don't have to go. (ok, actually I do because when 40% extra power you have to, but I don't want to)
The 4x4 is a (cough cough) Suzuki. Also on the papers, so there's no problem at all.

I'm trying hard Olli!!

JoZef, I'm sure that the GS box would not stand very long with 200HP... And I especially want to use the AWD as well, so that doens't work.

This evening was a evening of measuring a lot and puzzeling a lot. I have to think out a good adapter for the brakes. I fitted a cleaned end of a driveshaft en hung a Axel disc on it. It fitted very well!! It fits nice under the starter and under the turbo as well. That was good news.
Now I have to find someone who can make me such adapters, but that musn't be too hard.

Well, a 602 gearbox stands a GS engine despite what most people have read (but not tested). People have used 170 HP YAMAHA R1 engines on Bond Bug rear axles (designed for 35 HP) with no breakage, so with the proper bearings and decent oil it could be possible.

Alfasud gearbox could also be an option, the 1700 16V is 140 HP and they have been successfully tuned to 300 HP

But if you can get adapters made easy and cheap, I guess it would be easier with stock gear box

Today I worked a bit on the chassis. First I was thinking of using a new and galvanised one in stead of the Super chassis, but I decided first to reinforce this one on the inside just to give it a good try. If it doesn't work out, I can always buy an galvanised one!
I first just opened the front, tomorrow I will do the rest and start measuring.

The top-plate is gone now and also the two half-circles.

Now I can make some extra cross beams for extra strength and anti-torsion.

A small update;

sadly I have been really busy with my work, so not very much has been done... But the folded metal to reinforce the chassis has arrived and I found a company who can make me the adapters from Subaru-gearbox to 2cv drivingaxles.

The "only" big thing now is actually to fix the wiring...... :s

This weekend to a meeting in Ter Apel (north-east of Holland) and hopefully next week a bit time, but I'm afraid not too much because I still have some things to do on my dad's and mine '71 Lancia Fulvia Rallye 1600HF'. Because we are going to drive the www.tulpenrallye.nl with it! (Starts in Annecy F and ends a week later in Noordwijk NL)

And when we just got it from Italy: (3 months ago now)
