You like the rack then as much as i do.
I saw this style of rack on an old black and white photo of a VW Beetle. The beetle had a gutter to fix it to but i had to bolt mine through the side of the car.
The idea is that you can still carry luggage but it does not interfere with the opening of the roof.
You cannot buy these anywhere so i had to make one from scratch. Its looking good now as its about 2 years old and well weathered. It has started to rust and the wooden strips are stained from rain and snow etc.
Did you also notice that i have extended the original front/rear wings and the sills, as well as lowering the suspension to give it a very low look. With four people inside, it looks like it is hovering above the ground.
Tony. Cool

When i've finished the bodywork, the 'Red Baron' will be sold, so i might remove the rack before painting.
If so i will let you know.

No Neil. Have you got a copy that you can scan and post? More to the point, where do you think it was taken, one of the uk shows?
I'd be interested to see that, Cheers - Tony. Cool
