Many skilled people here with lots of knowledge of the 2CV-world.

Anybody know of any homebulit "Sahara"-models? I Was thinking that it may bee fun to bulid a Twin 602-engined 4-wheel drive car...
Should be straight foreward? Anybody seen the gear-lever system on a Sahara, and how that is done?

There is those 3 bars moving gears in top of gearbox, you know? Those are
extended in sahara and they come in center of car were shifter is.
But there is more easy DIY ways to do it.

Just get car and start buiding, you will find your problems. We sure help you then! Very Happy

there is an Austrian site - a register of all Saharas, original and home-built, i think it's called Peter's Sahara Site.
Gear lever can be solved by putting gearstick on the floor and connecting one horizontal lever above, and the other below the joint - one slovenian home-made sahara (actually just a twin engined chassis) was done like that and it worked well. it was crazy to drive!
clutch and accelerator: try to copy from rear-engined vw-vans, I drive T3 for work, it has hydraulic clutch.

Nice picture of the Sahara mechanics! Never seen the gearlevers before. I've got the car and the parts. I just need to find a new garage..... Rolling Eyes
