About the BBQ, meeting at my 2CV actually, cause my Dyane needs a new engine... I'm really not a lucky guy! _________________ www.super2cv.com |

Not just you Etienne. I got the 'red baron' mot'd today and the chassis is badly corroded. Guess what i'm doing tommorow---weld weld weld weld weld . New chassis next year i think . _________________ If it works ok, "LEAVE IT THE FUCK ALONE". |

Etienne,
not sure why you need to change the engine, when it should only take an hour or so to fit some replacement exhaust manifold studs?
If they won't unscrew with mole grips and some heat, drill through the centre of the old studs then into the attack with a spiral screw extractor...
If it's not possible to find replacement studs quickly, cut down a longer (40mm? ) M7 bolt as a quick fix.
Good luck, hope you get to take the Dyane to Spa.
Ken.

I sprayed some oil on them. Actually I was thinking these screws were "melted" in the head and I would have to change the all head. And because there is already a broken part on the motor itself (see the topic about my Dyane), I didn't think much more.
I'll see how it reacts by heating.... but for sure it'll take more than hour for me! _________________ www.super2cv.com |
