Hi!

Unfortunantly I don't have a model A at the moment... Embarassed but its on my list for sure!
So until I get a proper ride again, here's my substitute:

Hey Hjulius! Welcome and thanks for mail!

I moved you great DS here in General Chat because we keep "your car

NO NO NO! Very Happy
Mine is a DS for sure... (but the extra chrome bling on the rear fenders are not mounted on the pictures.)

Very Happy

Well the red plastic "trompets" where actually there from the start on some DSes...
The 50-s DS has a different red plastic trompet than the ID, clear plastic and a lighter shade of red.
There are different theories, but normally cars with a light color on the roof had red plastic "trompets" and cars with a dark colour roof had stainless or chromed "trompets".
The first years the chromed trumpets where integrated in the trim all the way to the windshield! Cool
Later the darker opaque plastic "trompets" where used only on ID - DSuper etc... (except for Sweden where all cars later had stainless ones)

Here's a new one for my car, note the clear plastic look...

Here is more info if you still cant get enough: Wink

A first model ... you are more than welcome! I had already seen it on youtube, but some photos are always more amusing.

Please try not to get to much inspiration from the cars on this forum though, you now officially have the nicest off them all ... Wink

Bye!

Hi!
Thanks for those kind words!
Plenty of photos on the web page: www.hjulius.com Wink
Well this car is so untouched and well preserved with only 19.750 km on the clock, so I am restoring it to perfect original condition in every detail... Cool
The only modifications I am tempted to do is to get an extra roof to paint in "Gris Triennale" silver (also available in 1958) and probably wheels with white walls... just to get that little extra.
Other than that I think the first DS has the right look just the way it is...

A frog trying to fit in with the snails...
A fresh photo from tonights workshop exercise reveals a rougher, lighter and lower DS, unfortunately no rust... Wink

Still dreaming of a beautifully patinated 2cv, that's the next project for sure!
Until then I'll sometimes borrow this belgian -59 AZL3 from my parents.

Any viewing problems will soon be fixed!!
(Sorry, this is due to the switch between .mac and Mobile Me...)
May I please ask you to clear these posts commenting problems? Very Happy
