8 to 10th august, Bisley (GB): 4th hotrod hayride (including oval track race-action!).

http://www.hotrodhayride.com/

They claim to be the biggest hotrod meeting in europe. We'll have to check such a bold claim, of course!

Should be a fun trip, from either Harwich or Dover harbour, it's about 300 kms drive into Great Britain.

Be there or be square!

A short account of my trip to the Hotrod Hayride 2008 in Bisley Pavillion, UK.

Ferry ride, getting up way too early, driving on the left without right mirror, oil consumption, Hotrods & Kustoms, good campsite, lotsa beer & fatty foods, continual gunfire around the site, lots of reactions to the car ("It looks like a spaceship!"), meeting up with JoZeF and Panthershaun, badass oval track mud races, one day of solid rain (Lucas windshield wipers *&%$#@!!!), made some cool friends, shook hands with Keith Weesner, Wall of Death motorcycle races, Flake paintjobs, flames, scallops etc, WW1 museum with good coffee and a lot of old junk (of which I bought 25 pounds worth), visiting Brooklands vintage racetrack & museum, hanging around in Harwich, waiting for the boat.
Some pics of the meeting:

Atmosphere of location was really great

English breakfast special BWUEEERK!

Oval mud racing!

The best Rod at the show was dutch (of course).

Great paintjobs on cool cars.

Some of the stuff I bought at the WW1 museum / second hand junkstore. (along with two old customizing books for 25 pounds!)

A visit to Brooklands banked racetrack & airfield.

The formal art deco style combined with bad ass hot rod is right up my alley! (The "landau bars" are out, though.)

This is one of my favourites as well. What you don't really see is how big the wheels are. Those are truck tires and it has huge headlights. Also, the inside of the cabin is covered with porn pictures, haha.

good to meet you Bart, shame it was only for a brief moment Rolling Eyes maybe next year we can meet up for a beer?
I didn't get to meet JoZef Embarassed spent much to much time amongst the cars and in the bar Embarassed Embarassed
I think some of the nicest bikes around were there including my mates Panther (but I am biased).
Sadly I was in my mates daily as we had to work until late Friday so we thrashed that down. Hope to be in the Pop next year with a "new" Panther special as well that I'm planning to build just for the race track.
