Does anyone in the UK have any spare suspension tie rods (the bits with the eyes in them)?

Mine are screwed all of the way out to make the car lower, but there's not much thread holding them on so I'd like to cut and weld some up to make them longer and get the car lower with more thread holding them on.

ECAS are after £12.59 each which seems a bit pricey, especially as I'm only going to cut them in half Sad

Cheers

You can buy longer one at the Burton shop.

You can cut them in half and weld a nut or heavy guage steel tube in the middle to make it longer.
I have done this on three cars and had NO PROBLEMS.
And it does'nt cost anything either. Very Happy Very Happy
Depends how good your welding is of course Wink Very Happy

Yeah that's my plan. I don't want to do it to my only set though in case I want to go back to normal (or I bugger it up and leave my car immobile Confused )

Didn't realise Burton sold longer ones, although it would be £55 for 4. Call me cheap but that sounds a lot for some tie rods.

Yeah see your point Andy, but the same rules apply. If you need to go back then cut them in half again and weld original parts back together.
Piece Of Piss, LOL Laughing

Cheers Tony Very Happy

You wont need to add much either. I only added half an inch to mine and it would sit on the road if i wanted it too.
Also if you dont add too much there is enuf thread on the rods to wind thru the tie rod and probably take it almost up to normal height if you want to go higher at any time. I did this on my car when we had snow and needed the ride height a bit higher Very Happy .
Hope this helps mate???
Cheers Tony.

Cheers mate - 4 ideally, but 2 would suffice if you've got them.
