|
|
Bought this today, Its a '65 Ami6 berline, its been converted to run a late disc brake 602, late front arms, late rear arms, LHM fluid, but its in bits. Lots of bits, and it need a little bit of welding doing (although not a lot, and nothing serious). It will be a while before I get around to starting work on this car, but I would like to build something low (not channeled, as i dont have the space ot facilities) no bumpers, scabby bodyshell and panels, maybe some pinstriping on the bonnet and boot. Again, I really want to fit Club spec headlights, as they look more agressive. Ill probably ditch the inner wings as they rub the tyres on my Ami6 break and that isnt even that low.
Anyway, here are the pictures!

I wish I had the space and time to do it, It would look very good. Im just going to go as low as I can with normal body. maybe later when I have the space and time....
If anybody wants to photoshop a ratrod style Ami6 for me, then that would be nice.... _________________

I really like the Ami6 shape. (the break is even better, I think). Love the single spoke steering wheel. It looks like it needs to be wrapped in new vinyl. There is flaked vinyl available on the net. That would be kewl. Club headlights look really good but are hard to find....
The color scheme is really good as a base for a raw looking car. Add some dark red or blue striping and details, ooooooooooolala. _________________ Don't ask me what I think of you 'cause I might not give the answer that you want me to.

The break is even better ??? I find the break a waste of space compared to the original berline.
Hmm... the standards in your design school were bad _________________ "That bumper fits there like sunglasses on pig" O.E.

The break has some flaws close-up but I like the longer lines. I have a thing for breaks/staitonwagons, I can't help it. _________________ Don't ask me what I think of you 'cause I might not give the answer that you want me to.

hehe just kidding.
Did you know however the AMI 6 was considered, by Bertoni himself, to be his masterpiece _________________ "That bumper fits there like sunglasses on pig" O.E.

It is regularly quoted as a an ugly car. Even by Citroenists. I do not agree. There are lots of nice styling touches. The body is on the heavy side for the chassis and it looks like that, too. It think slightly wider wheels (145) would do the trick. _________________ Don't ask me what I think of you 'cause I might not give the answer that you want me to.

So ugly, it looks beautiful ... never understood why people say such things. It's like they are afraid to say they really like it ... |
