Hello snails.
I'm making a new gearbox for the orange 2CV, and now I come to that I should have adjusted the crown wheel.
In my Haynes manual says that you must let professionals do, but I never imagined, is of course a mechanic so I have a plan to make it myself.
There is an easy way to do it?? _________________ Mvh. Lars E

Not that I know of, you have to measure and adjust 2 shafts, that makes it a little time consuming. You could use blue ink (pruisisch blue) used to make visible where the gears touch each other. And that is most important for a long life. But maybe some mechanich building 2cv racers knows a simple sollution,I can imagine that they have to rebuild gearbox more then once. _________________ 2CV, with Visa turbo charged |

Clôd changed his on the side of the road
Didn't make a clean repair, but it worked.
I think he has Citroen garage manual, maybe he could scan the relevant pages ? _________________ "That bumper fits there like sunglasses on pig" O.E.

Well, my Citroen garage repair manual will not tell much more than Haynes manual I guess... And my manual is for early Ami 6 AM engines and gearboxes ... _________________ I'm a Rod Breaker

The thing is that you may need some special tooling, a micrometer and a set of calibrated washers but here is the repair manual (in spanish )

Hi Lars, as you can see on the page 413 the pictures with the contact area. The pruisisch blauw, the blue ink, you can see where the teeth touch each other. If I am not mistaken then measure the amount of mm how much the contact area should move and divide this by 7. This should give you the extra thickness you need to ad to the shims. The only disadvantgae of this system is, is that you have to completely build the gearbox, take is apart and do this untill you are happy with the contact area. _________________ 2CV, with Visa turbo charged |

Hello snails, so now I am finist assemble and adjust the gearbox.
Do not know exactly where the parts come from, but now I have the following gear.
4. gear 5,1/1
3. gear 6,85/1
2. gear 10,2/1
1. gear 20/1
(this is the total gearing, from engine to driveshaft)
It will be exciting for the summer to get out and run with it _________________ Mvh. Lars E

I have this design on the gear box for my old Star G36. I still have to remove the gearbox from the frame to access the spring guide but I could see how access on the AR platform would be simple.
Its about time. _________________ page rank tool |
