Hi!

First time when looked those Fords with "rear" front axle they looks stupid. But, when I looked them again a couple of times, they start to look funny. And now I almost like them Laughing

How about design from newer Citroëns? Move the rear axle even more rear... Wink

If I build a tractor-rod, Olli can take a picture and photoshop the fenders back and his eyes don't hurt anymore Laughing

is it possible to move the front axle forward on 2cv ?
wont it cause problems because its frontwheeldrive ?
or maybe make bonnet shorter so it looks like the whels are further up front Confused

the engine is in the way, so you can`t make the bonnet shorter Mad

free your mind and you will find many ways to solve that Wink
I have 3 ideas, engine&gbox front, engine&gbox rear, engine front and gbox at rear... My own rod will run with first setup... someday

I was thinking that letting the engine a show a bit in the front under the original bonnet while moving the body forward also a bit maybe is a solution, just like some 2cv ciclocars based transformations.

no its still tractor look
it think olli is going to turn round engine and gbox an d the dif in the gbox
so the axels are more to the front
just like a 2cv shara rire engine

Yep same setup as renault4, gearbox in front of the engine. I only hope that cooling wil not be a problem, because you can not turn ventilation in the other direction. The first Bibip had this problem with the rear engine.

VW is more close to the 2cv design than rods, so lets see what is effect of moving axle there...

Stock axles:

Moved axles:

But ofcourse moving axle front is not only thing to care about, tire sizes
are important too. Original 125x15 can look very small whitout fenders.
Its true that there is some "real" rods with those tires too and they can
look fine. Those 30's fords are not actually so big cars. Car height is also
one thing what you need to think when choosing wheels. Anyway this
kind a mod is visually so big that you really need to take care of many
things to make cool result.

Here is example of nice car what is ruined by moving axle too much:

If we would want to have 2cv front axle closer to the bumper and turn engine&transmission backwards (engine over axle), would you:
1) Shorten front overhang and bonnet?
2) Move the body backwards and shorten it behind drivers seat?
3) Move the tranny-engine-axle combination forward and strenghten frame rails?
Making it an electric vehicle would solve cooling problems (and fits easier too).

olli the last car in your post is just not low enough thats why the axle looks like its moved forward too much Wink
its like you say tire size ride height etc really make or break the car
