Hey guys (and girls of course)
I thought it was about time that I introduced myself a bit! I've been around on snail2cv for quite some time now! I live in the netherlands 29 years old and i've been crazy about 2cv's for about 10 years now. I own the following cars:
2cv 6 club 1987 red, I had a visa engine in there, but took it out, it is completely original again! (except from turbotube and seats)
ACAdiane 1983, with visa engine, (664) with homemade airfilter and turbotube (35 HP measured on rolling road)
AK 400 in pieces, my next project (maybe even chaneling and topchop of cargo part)
2cv 6 club 1983 rouge de castille, also in bits and pieces
ACAdiane 1987 in bits and pieces.....
and last but not least, my custom pick-up This is quite a project, I've been working on it for the last 4 years. It is a ACAdiane chassis (restored, reinforced, sandblasted, gescoupeerd (blasted with hot zinc) and powdercoated 3 times), 2CV body, with the rounded back of a 1937 austin 7 Ruby. I've made a completely new dashboard, electric, leather seats of a XM, Rims of a beetle (it will have 155 tyres in front and 185 at the back) I made a complete new front bumper out of a tube and sheetmetal. it will have a sliding roof. steeringwheel and lightswitch of a ZX. I'm sure I forgot many things, but I will add those later. and of course i will (try to) post some pics!
greetzzzzz

last ones for today:
front bumper.. (me like a lot )
first try for the pick-up bed, I wasn't very happy with this option, it was to massive, but I would have had some storagespace (lids on top of the sides)
and this is how it will be, in a couple of weeks we (my dad and I) will go and make the pick-up bed ( always good to have a dad with connections )
sunroof
o yeah, i will put a tuned visa engine in this car, just have to put it together..... and it will get a double exhaust (suz GSX1200 mufflers), I don't know yet if i will put them in the back or let them end just in front of the rear wheels)

I don't like the modern style interior, but for the rest it looks absolutly great, with many good details. With the right finish it would be a very nice american style pickup 2cv
Good luck with the works! _________________ I like to play |

Some nice ideas and some great work, but damn, the interior an sunroof suck so much !
The second pick-up bed does look good, even if usually I'm not fan of using front fender in the back. Did you think about using original rear fender design ?

@Ratstyle, I made 5 mm adapterdiscs in front just to get enough clearance then cut off the original bolts and welded them to the disks. in the back, just drilled new holes with thread in it for the new bolts and welded those on the inside and cut of the original ones!

jep tought about that, but I like it this way a lot better! if you use a front fender in the same direction as the ones in front it gives a nice 'flow' if you look at it from the sides. if you turn the frontfenders backwards it takes out the line of the whole car (in my opinion)
and about the sunroof and interior, It is just a style I chose 4 years ago, snailform didn't excist yet so I didn't get other input for these things. but even now, i know this forum, I would have done everything the same! I'm glad there are as many opinions as there are people, otherwise the world would be verry boring!!!!

Looks great !
For me the second pickup box looks best, and the front fenders there looks good as they are sliced and you only put the exterior part, it looks very good.
The front bumper looks fantastic, it seems a good sheetmetal job from the scratch, i want one like this.
A part that looks extrange for me is the front part of the roof.
The rear light also looks good, can you tell more from that?
Your cardboard mockups are also a great idea.

+1 for Etiennes comments.
Hope you find old 2cv van roof to replace that roof what you have now.
That "forehead" of roof you made does not look like quality of rest of the
car... :S You made nice work with rear of cabin, its sad if you leave front
roof like that. Try to atleast get a rid of that lame 90's citroen steering wheel.
Its not about snail style or it exist or not, still 90's style is not cool anymore.

Hey,
Frontbumper is quite expensive (if i would count all my hours i've worked on it untill now....) but not for sale!
about the roof, this is the best i could do with the sunroof in it, and that is one thing I really wanted (4 years ago) now I would try to find another solution, but I'm not going to change it, I've put to many hours in it and I really want to be able to open my roof! the only thing I might change are the corners on the frontside of the roof. and a van roof woul'dn't fit the rest of the bodywork anymore, than everything has to be changed. In real the front doesn't look so bad (or I got used to it...)
the rearlights I found at a Caravan/Camper parts store, many caravans e.t.c. have them, so they probably will be available for a long time!
@ Olli: what style is COOL then? 30's, 40's or 50's maybe a bit of all? and what will be cool in 5 jrs? 80's style again??

Maybe it is. But snail will not stand behind it. I'm just wondering why to
make things like in 90's. In that time there was nothing very nice...
Ofcourse every stuff from that period is cheap or free, but thats sad.
I would use 2cv van roof and get rid of the sun roof, or even use 2cv roof.
I would not even think to build with ideas what I did have 4years ago!
