This was my first 2CV. I had other Citroens, a Saab, Honda, Peugeot and Skoda but only got to know 2CV's when I worked at Burton Car Co. Yes, the guys who make the plastic cars.

I found the car sitting between donor cars, totally burned to the ground. Even the carburettor had melted.
The car had been restored just before it burned so it was in really good condition. We had to replace wheels/tires, shock absorbers, engine/tranny, seats, glass roof and wiring. Another donor car with a bent chassis gave up the parts after some persuading.
The car was painted with a clear rustproofing paint and new shiny Burton wheels were put under the car with brand spanking new Mabors
Many happy kilometers were driven, to Austria (2001 World meeting), Italy, France etc.
After a few months, the floorpanels started to get weak. The bottom of the trunk fell out when I went over a speed bump and my tools were on the street.
After that, I gave it back to Burton. It probably drives around as a Burton now. _________________ Don't ask me what I think of you 'cause I might not give the answer that you want me to.
