STP is in Hospital for 3 weeks.

so he will probably answer when he's feeling better.

I've been told by some guys that his cranks are the only good ones available... but hard to get him to do one and expensive.

Ecas lists NOS original Citroen Cranks if you've got £900 handy Laughing Priced NOT to sell Laughing

Cheers

There is this from André Jacques PP:
Code:
Les secrets d'un embiellage 2cv /visa
Comment est-il constitué et quelles pièces sont échangeables ?

The secrets of a driving gear 2cv / visa
How is it formed and what parts are exchangeable?

http://www.pp-2cv.be/FR/News/info%20technique%20entre.htm
Under Construction Rolling Eyes

Maybe his new forum can be useful...
www.laoufti.forumactif.com

I have often wondered about this... Knowing that many dirtbikes (motorcycles) have pressed crankshaft which can be rebuilt here in Australia.
I have been told it would be easy enough to take apart but would reguire a jig to align correctly and press back together. The crankshaft rebuilder also said the bearings need to be sourced from Europe... I thought they could be machined...

Most two-stroke bikes, Harley Davidson, Ducati singles and early V-twins, many Jap engines, Kawasaki...

In Croatia there is a guy who can take apart 2cv crankshaft and replace bearings - but he doesn't have new bearings, so he makes one crankshaft out of two old ones. for what I hear, his work is good, but with old bearings it's not a great benefit, I guess...

yes, he makes one working cranksfaft out of two crankshafts with broken connecting rod bearings. it may sound crazy to you, but 2cv is not as common here as it is in France, so people do whatever they can to keep them running - especially older people who are not connected with other 2cv people, or are not aware of ordering parts via internet.
many times when I look at photos at 2cv forums and see chassis or body proclaimed as 'totally rusted' - well, many people here would consider it as an excellent basis for restauration.
