Hey!

Here some pics of my ride : 2CV6 1983.

I took these pics 3 weeks ago, before the french national meeting. The roof rack is from the gs of my father he had in 80's and 90's.

I made the fake rust color last summer, 5 days work. It looks pretty cool but I think I will make it better in the future. Now it looks too clear and too red I think, but anyway it's cool!
I found the roofrack the last month and I fixed it with some "Lefol" 2cv roof fixation i had for a long time.
Tires are 145/65 r15 Maxxis (smart size) and make the car a little bit lower, but the front fender looks maybe too much empty now. Here the frame was 4 cm from the ground... too low even if it doesn't look too low. Damned 12cm size chassis! I wish I make a channelling on this 2CV!
Now the car is a little bit higher, and the bacl a little bit lower (no rake anymore). It's lower than a regular 2CV but it still looks like off-road car Laughing

2 other Olli's pics at the national meeting:

Without the fornt plate, my 2cv looks much more better!!
I will make a smaller plate soon, and I have some other project :
- turn signals in front lights (and not in the fenders as now)
- front lights closer to the bonnet (like old ones)
- old back face with small rear lights
- change the inside

I will let you know for the next modifications!

I think I will install the turn signals in the front lights instead of the parking lights!

Je pense que je vais mettre les clignotants dans les feux avants à la place des veilleuses!

Cool roof rack. I like the way it fits to the 2cv. It has the same curve.

What's the difference between a hoodride and a ratlook? Rolling Eyes

Good question...

What is Hoodride?
- a car in orginial condition with used marks, or rust (or fake made just like real)
- low as possible, and better with some fun old rusty accessories (roofrack and stuff)
Most of hoodride cars are VW beetle ...

Look at that : http://www.hoodride.com
you'll see that is more than just a car style.

Example :

Rat look is more dirty way (hoodride car are mostly clean, rusty but clean).
Some examples of rat look :

often black mat :

Sometimes these style are close in result but I thing the mind is different. Hoodride is more for the style of old stuff, and rat look is more to make something ugly and chock people...

Anybody else?

Turn signals in front lights and no more in fender...

So now I have to make the other side Mr. Green

It looks good.

How do you make the fender? Other one or welding the original?

Thanks for the info. Wink

Yep same fender. I just weld a small iron part and made the shape with bondo.
It's not perfect but hoodride car a great for these kind of stuff, they don't need to be perfect and make new paint is easy! I tried a new kind of used paint Laughing

Yes it's done and I got a small front plate!
I already made a short front light support (like old 2CVs) but I didn't install it yet!

Inside : mexican blanket and coffe bags on doors, but everything else is still to do...
