Hi, I am a new member and wonder if anyone has any ideas on this.
I have just bought a modified 2cv with twin exausts, the near side one is fine but the offside one spits liquid and is much louder than the other. Both have a half torpedo in the midle. Also at mid revs exaust fumes enter the car. Thanks.............Sid.

Hi Sid, liquide is noting to worry about as water is a combustion product... However when fumes enter the car the exhaust is probably leacking. Ones you have sorted the leak or leaks, both sides may well be equally load as well.
Good luck, Bart

Hi!

You should post some pics and say where you are from.
Maybe someone here is close to you and could help you. Wink

Hello Sid and welcome...

To post your pictures, first you need to get them hosted (for instance at www.servimg.com which is free).
Each picture hosted in this website have a corresponding URL called "direct link" (for instance http://i75.servimg.com/u/f75/12/95/27/60/2cv10.jpg).
Copy this URL and past it in the post in-between [img][/img]

Then you should have your picture posted like mine Cool

You cant link pictures from your desktop to here.

You need to upload them first on internet.

photobucket is one free picture server.

Hello SID. The right and left exhaust boxes (torpedoes) are from a different manufacturer and as such the internal baffling is slightly different so that would explain the noise difference.
With the exhaust fumes i have not noticed that before but its posible that it might have a leak from inside one of the heat exchangers which is coming in when you put the heater on.
If this is the case then you can determine which one by removing the cardboard heater tubes one at a time and driving it up the road. By doing this you should be able to see if the leak is from the left or right side heat exchanger.
Sorry but never noticed it myself, but normally had the windows open when driving.
Hope you enjoy it and let me know of any changes you make etc.
Cheers Tony.

Well I did not know how well known Scar is around these parts!!
Scar will be residing at my place of work doing a bit of P.R. for us. Any one who wants to pay Scar a visit is more than wellcome to. Tony seemed to like the place (lots of boys toys). I better not say the Company name, dont want to get struck off for advertising!!!!!!
Thanks to Tony I have found a small blow coming from the off side manifold so will be able to stop the fumes, his idea was spot on and you dont smell it with the window open. There will be much debait about the future of Scar, but I am inclined the leave well alone, Scar is what Scar is.
