Just woke up, checking this forum as part of my morningrituel and was gazing for minutes to the new banner. How nice is this car! I think our big Andre should smile a nice smile when he could see what people are still doing with his TPV.

Hmm, on the whole I think it's safe to say that in Andrés case he wakes up with morning sickness more often than he wakes up smiling

I don't think André Citroën ever saw any 2 CV. Actually he didn't even think about it because he died before his successor started the TPV project ! Laughing

I agree with CitroënAZU, it can't get lower, the wheels and tires are too big.
Is it street-legal? I see a license-plate.

I was very excited about this car and waited a long long time till it was finished. The photoshop looked well and the previews were promising!

I just can't help it but i'm disappointed. It's too narrow, too high and too short to be extreme cool.

This is what I was expecting and hoping for:

Maybe you can make it a little more extreme like this?
Lower to the ground, wider axles?

Still love the idea and craftmanschip!

Why do people always expect and need for hot rod projects to be "extreme" ?

i dont think it needs to be extreme, but i have to agree its a bit to high for my taste. i think it would look much better close to the ground.

Thats because you're only familiar with the current in trend low stance of hot rods.

This one is an excellent example of a "traditional" hot rod, although the period of this style is earlier than the one of the rods used as reference for this build, I would say.

(maybe a bit too clean, though Laughing )

Fantastic build! I think it is very interesting and it takes a little while to get used to as it pushes the envelope quite far, as with anything radical!

I have looked at it for a couple of days now and have one comment. I think that the rear wheels are too close to the body. Now the wheels are placed inside the rear part of the sill - that creates a strong visual effect. To move the wheels out an inch or two would cure the "narrowness effect". If you look at a classic model A Ford rod, which is the natural reference, even when the rear wheels are close to the body they are never inside the body, so to speak.

I am very curious to know more about the construction and look forward to more photos!

PS - it would also be nice if the gap for the light tubes in the hood are closed. I'm sure they will be.

By the way - the photoshopped image by Shadowsintonightmare above nails what I'm getting at with the gap/sill. The height issue is a matter of taste.

i also know the older higher hotrods, but thats not really what i like. but why say im wrong when i just say what my taste is, im not saying the car is ugly only that i would love it more if it was a bit lower..

Don't you think it's already quite extreme for a 2 CV ? More would be just ridiculous. I'll post some more pics later. This car is really impressive, it has a great style. I just followed it on 600 km and the stance is awesome.
