This seems so simple, that's an elegant solution!
I still have a question:
When I look at the tube protubing behind fixation point that seems to guide the travel of the bag:
and then with the bag in place:
what is the actual displacement length of the system? it seems small from where I stand (my chair that is...):
or, did I miss something? _________________ 0 to 70 in the same day! |

amazing i only think you're gonna need a lot of air pressure? or am i wrong _________________

I'm very interested, how much force does this air-element make for example 10bar pressure..?
I just hope I'm wrong, but when I was working in pneumatics workshop, we calculated that with 100mm cylinders 10bar pressure wasn't enough even to raise 2cv without any load (600kg)... Maybe I or somebody else need to do some calculations..?
Remember that with 2cv suspension, there is need to use about five times more force than "normal" suspension..! _________________ Make it today, tomorrow it's probably illegal... |

Jasu, the thing here is that he is not going to use air presure cylinders.
He is using air bags. Its totally different thing. These bags are in use at
many, many custom cars around the world, and also in Busses & Trucks.

I know that 2cv springs are strong but I dont believe that 2cv's springs are
5times bigger than normal cars

1 bar is 1 kilo per square cm. so if you have a force of 200 kilo multiply by 5 becouse of the swingarm =1000 kilo, and the surface from the airbag is something about 20 square cm?? so that makes already 50 bar of pressure
or did i miscalculated? _________________

This was disturbing me so much, so i must do some calculatings...
There is need about 10000N force to front spring, nearly 5000N rear. So, IF there is cylinder with 100mm diameter piston, there is need of 10bar pressure in each cylinder...
Thats why I asked specifications of these air bags, I want know more about them. I'n not saying they won't work there, just saying "normal" cylinders need more pressure than that 8, or even 10 bar to work...
Yes, I know they work well in bus & truck, but they are much bigger and straight between suspension and chassis..! _________________ Make it today, tomorrow it's probably illegal... |

I also think that 2cv springs are much stronger than normal springs.
If your wheel is lifted by 10 cm the spring is only expand a few cm. So the spring has to be a lot stiffer than a "normal" spring. |

I didnt find any info how much presure they use in these systems, but
I found some pics of gauges they use and there maximum was 150psi
what makes about 10bars.
