hello everybody! let me introduce myself and my duck.
my name is pip and i ride a 1967 cv called groovy.

at the moment there is a lot to do about my duck, but work is in progress.
it's already low, my doors are in primerpaint so these on the photo are not mine. the motor is running fine so i added a powerfilter to make it sound more rawww..the "bottom plates" are taken care of so the only big thing to do now is the paint job...

i want it black on the bottom and bloody red on the top.

this picture was taken during a decibel meeting on the "waggelmeeting" beeksebergen. i got 129.7 Db here...loud but never enough. Laughing

this is my brother in law bjorn aka van duck

tis is me and my brother dennis with his blue duck..i'm the nut in front

us representing 2cv:

...more and better pictures will come!

What's wrong with silver and red? Or silver and black? You hardly ever see silver on a 2CV. For that reason alone I would keep the colour. Red and black sounds a bit boring to me. Don't tell me tou will have red wheels with whitewalls too.

it's a metallic silver duck now, and some parts are so rusty, i need to take care of that...if i want to spray these parts silver metallic again you'll see a difference in collor or the amount of metallic stuff...thats ugly....and i think black with bloody red ...not bright red...is verry cool... my weels will be white.. but if you have other collor idea's...tell me....maybe i'll change my mind... Rolling Eyes thanks for the reply

Hi and welcome, Bjorn told me he affected some relatives with the virus Laughing or was it the otherway around? Anyway, about the car, I have to agree with Bart, stick to the silver really. Why not do a full respray? When you can do a reasonable job yourself it's not too expensive, but only takes (a lot of) time. And the silver goes well with the 18bhp details on your 2cv.

Cheers, Bart

Well,

I would keep the body silver, maybe fenders, boot, roof and bonnet black.

Or silver with (matt) black scallops and bright blue outline.

Somping like that.

i agree on silver with black...the only thing is...i want to paint it myself and have no experience what so ever with metallic paint....isn't it 10 times more difficult to spray? i don't want it to fail...and what about black with dark blue...? thanks for the idea's btw.

Metallic is not difficult it's the clear coat. If you use a base coat metallic, that's the paint with only the pigment, dries very quick.

Groovy, are you planning on spraying with cans or compressor & spraygun?

If you need a blank picture, take a picture of your car and desaturate (take the colour out) in photoshop. Print it 25 times and give your friends some crayons or markers and have a creative brainstorm.

I think scalloops are kind a out. Try to find one cool recently made VW whit
scalloops and think why they dont appear in that scene. At least if you really
want those loops try to avoid 80's look as much as you can.

Well not everyone wants to follow what's "in" or what's been done a lot in the VW scene. I think the beauty of any paintjob is not measured by how many people have it on their car.
