Does anyone have a rev counter that will work on a 2cv engine. I have a brand new one suitable for a four cylinder engine but not a two.
If i can swap parts for it, that would be great, or let me know how much you want, and i will sell one of my children to pay for it Wink Laughing.

you could buy one from a bmw boxer bike.

r45 for example.
on ebay you will certainly find one.

another possibility:

buy an old 4 cylinder rev counter and convert it.

in most cases you just have to change one resistor.
really easy :)

Malte, does the BMW have the same wasted spark system as the 2cv as this is the problem i have.
Did think of converting the one i have but again, the price outweighs the end result.

Yes the beemers have the same principle of ignition system at least the old two valve models , i haven't been reading up on the newer 4valves.
Poul

edit: actually any twostroke single rev counter will do it too , one spark every rotation.

it works !!!! i got one myself :)

i can send you a connection diagramm of the r45 one if you need!

i think modifying a 4 cyl. rev counter is not as difficult and time consuming as you think.

just write a message if you need help.
