Hey, guys, here are some pix of my 2 cv. It's a '65 with the 14 hp engine. My plans for it include slammed suspension, stripped interior, and a military color scheme. I'm not fond of the army at all, I just like the color combination (olive drab green body/tan wheels). If you guys wanna contribute with any ideas, be my guests. Cheers from Argentina.

Welcome professor. What are you researching at the moment?

As for ideas. Some things instantly come to mind, such as mirrors, grille and rear lights. I would close the rear fenders, as well.

Must be hard finding parts over there?

Yes, rear lights are definitely off. As for the grille, well, I'll try to get a ribbed bonnet, or at least the original grille. I don't think I'm gonna close the rear fenders, although I know they carry a lot of the 2cv's personality, since I wanna make a fenderless rod out of my car.
BTW, K.B., I LOVE you Tiki Wagon, must be one of the wildest incarnations of a citroen.
You were asking about parts availability down here in Argentina; well actually 2cvs and 3cvs(as cars with the larger engine are called here) are still being driven daily in this country. They were made in Argentina between the early sixties and 1990 or so. Some parts are more difficult to find than others, but all in all you can find pretty much everything.

So you could find a 3CV engine?
I guess there is more of these "IES Super America" than the Citroën anymore?

Thanks, but I think there are lots of people here who are doing things to their cars at least as wild, like channeling and top-chopping.

There has been some discussion here about fenderless 2cv rods. It requires careful consideration because it is very easy to take away the "harmony" of the design by removing parts but very hard to find a new equillibrium.

If that makes any sense at all to you....

If you like my car you must have seen it in action?
If not, see here:

Etienne, actually there are more Citroëns than IES Super America. Those were crappy cars, really. The suspension had been replaced by a normal wishbone and shock absorber set up, it had four on the floor, etc. Apart from that, build quality was not the best, so not many have survived. And they look definitely awful

oh yeah I've seen once in the UK, that was really crazy to see how the suspension is!
Ok thanks for the info, I was thinking there were more left than the Citroen ones. You're right, these IES were really ugly!

Good luck with you're project, it's really cool to see the SNAIL forum is a world forum! Very Happy
