Hi..
I have a litle problem wiht oil from the turbo, I have made a adapter that sits under the engine breeder.

Under 5000rpm and cold engine, no problem
But over its blows all the oil out though the engine breder.

but 0,7bar = fun Twisted Evil

The breather is designed to do that no? So maybe a better solution is to make a T section in the oil level tube. That one is a closed tube so no problem with spitting out oil.

PS what turbo do you have and how do you have it running??? Cool

Like Backfire.

modify a Rocker cover to fit the oil return... I imagine the fact that you're trying to put oil back in where there are "turbulences" isn"t helping.

Yes, i think that is the problem.

Is the oilflow from the rocker cover large enough???

That is were a guy with a 652 turbo put his. no problems I don't think.

Is there that much oil travelling through the turbos lubrication shaft ?

When the oil return generates so much pressure that it starts leaking under the filler/breather I think putting the oil return in the dipstick tube will blow out the dipstick...?

Putting it on a rockercover seems a better idea to me.

Cheers, Bart

i'm not sure but i think you have to put it under the oil level ,so the pressure from the engine have no effect.

As far as I know the return oil line from a turbo does not generate pressure, the problem with boxer engine and breather is that it does generate pressure, fill it with oil and it will spitt it out. But hey maybe I am wrong. Other option is to flatten part of engine case, and bolt oil return directly to it as in the way manufacturers do.

If you put the return line of turbo on rocker cover, what will happen to rocker arms with the hotter oil? I mean clearance, extra wear?

no problem i think, i have it also on a rocker cover on my gsa turbo engine and it is still ok after 30000 km.

but on a gsa engine you have no problem with sump pressure on a 2cv/visa engine you have, becouse that engine almost work like a compressor with the pistons going together at the same time. so by placing the oil return under the oil level, problem solved i think. on the other hand a turbo must realy have a free flow oil return with no back pressure......

The rocker arms are still having the original oilline so there is no problem there.

I would say the rocker cover or the dipstick tube is the place to put the return.

I will modify a rocker cover tomorrow, and take a longer test drive.
And hope that it’s working good.

Why not plumb the return from the turbo into the oil cooler inlet tube? This way you'd probably minimise the oil temp variations in the engine (if you don't want to plumb into the engine case to feed the return into the sump).
