Hi
I'm Ben and I live in Surrey, UK.
I currently have 2.5 2cvs - one is a 1974 2cv that I'm restoring to standard spec, the other is a 1987 plums and custard dolly which I'm very tempted to customise - but I'm not sure how just yet!
Mr Shedspeed pointed me at this forum a few months ago, it's really amazing to see the work that has gone into these cars - they look great.
Cheers! |

Hi, I'm Micke.
I spent my entire childhood in 2cv land with over 20 2cv, Ami, Mehari, AK etc. in the family and constant summer trips to wonderful 2cv meetings across europe... ( the winters naturally spent in the garage)
With a start like that there is no hope - so naturally I still have the 2cv poison pumping in my veins from birth.
Now, 37 years later with a family of my own, I have finally slipped back into addiction starting with a 1958 DS19 which I am currently restoring completely. www.hjulius.com
Professionally I am a freelance industrial designer with a masters in transportation design. (At the moment I'm working mostly with concept styling for Scania trucks.)
I must say that finding your Snail forum and seeing your projects really inspired me in many ways!!
Thanks for that!
Professionally it is always a boost seeing such free creativity - your work has really spread like fire across the Scania design departement this week...
Your way of appreciating the 2cv just fits my taste like a glove so the dreams are instantly triggered...
Tell you what, there is this nice -62 2cv just sitting waiting for me to in a friends garage... _________________ >>Mikael |

Welcome again Micke, we have already few designers here! Its just cant be
bad for 2cv custom scene! Those "old 2wc customs" whit mercedes grille etc.
are quite far from good design or even good taste! Try to catch that 2cv
soon, is it Belgium build too? Swedish needed always be better than Fins,
when we got regular French 2cvs you got full accesoried Belgium ones
At least mine Rod project is one of those Belgis..

Hi,
Thanks for a warm welcome!
Yes, for sure it is great to finally see designers touch on customizing 2cvs!
That 62 is a french one, just like I want it without that silly extra rear side window...
I have do double-check the facts but I know it's not original, has for example been converted to 12v and has a peppier engine, the style needs some attention as well as the paint, it was restored in the 80-s with all that means.
Yes I will seriously convince my friend to sell it to me.
Until then I'll have to do some serous Photoshop sketching to find the right look, perhaps some feedback from the masters would be possible on that later?
Olli, if you ever sell your Dr. Pepper AZU let me know!
I'll keep from contaminating the snailforum further with too much DS stuff...

Hallo to everyone! My name is Vladimir and I am from Bulgaria. Nice forum you have here. I have few 2CVs, Dyane, Acadiane, GSA Break and a VISA Club. Technical resources here are rare, so I am always happy to find another resource on the net. I have found some of my Croatian friends here already, nice!
Regards to all,
Vladimir |

Hi Micke
Cool to see someone talk like the way you do about 2cvs.
Welcome Vlad, too

Hi guys! Just a quick hello:
I'm Jacob from the south of Sweden (Skåne). I'm just starting a 2CV hot rod. I have no pictures yet, but I'll show you as soon as there is anything to show.
Great forum!
/J
PS. Here're two of my other rides. I'm selling the SAAB, though.

Welcome!
Great looking Saab 95!
How much it costs, I can forward it to Finnish custom/rod forum
where is one topic of customSaabs. Maybe someone is interested.
Hope your hot rod will not look like tractor!
(I mean just by removing feneders from 2cv, makes
it look more tractor than rod)

Thanks, Olli!
I will take some photos of the SAAB and make an inventory of all the stuff any of the next few days and will get back about it. It will be cheap! Like a few hundred euro, depending on optional "extras". (It is rusty, but the top chop is in the papers.) I'm selling it only to make way for the 2CV rod.
The 2CV will sit on a purpose-built chassis of my own design, with front engine and rear wheel drive. It will be based purely on either Citroën or homemade parts. It will even have hydropneumatic suspension.
(I am an architect and artist and will do all I can to make it look good.)

Welcome, Jacob! I'm already looking forward to seeing the plans and start of your project. Shame you have to let your Saab go. |

Thanks!
Yes, I like the SAAB, but I have the bus to take care of too, and there's a limit to what one man can handle (and what fits in a garage).
