I like your front tires. Where do they come from? |
Tires are 5.60 15 Firestone Bias Ply Whitewalls. Used a lot in HotRod/Custom Skene.

Bingo, Jozef! Finally somebody who gets it right ...
I would just get rid of those fenders, but that's just me Would look fine with some fenders like -> http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/uploads/new/11119.jpg but a little finer and closer to the wheel. Or cut up your inner wings so you can put your outher ones more to the middle.
Great work! |

Hey guys
thanks everyone for the nice comments !
Deuchman : you won't fit those tyres on a Berline...
Lookee what I did so that they don't hit anywhere...
At the Back :
At the front, you need to cut the inside of the fender out a bit, and hammer the body in and pull the fenders around at the front a bit so that you can turn the wheels...
Clôd : yep, you can get 5.00 15... but BF G ain't Firestone... and Coker classics are probably the ugliest WW on the market (as well as being bad quality).
In any case, it probably won't be a straight forward fit on a Berline (their dimensions are "equivalent", but not identical...
Buying them was close to having my balls cut off, too... but I'd rather be shot that put Nankang tyres on this car
Sam : it's a 2cv, so 2cv Fenders are mandatory... _________________ "That bumper fits there like sunglasses on pig" O.E.

First, I think this car looks wicked.
But it isn't really road legal is it? Not in the Netherlands |

No, nothing legal here whatsoever...
In UK I think that it would have easily been possible to get the AMI Alfa Super "legal", with 1500 cc engine declared on V5 (which it wasn't )
Not sure about the issues regarding running a car with no bonnet though...
In France...
Nothing is legal... you are allowed 0% modifications on your car...
That's the theory... because in real life, you don't get that bothered by the Police... Fingers crossed...
You say illegal in Holland, but if I drive through Holland with French number plates, french driving licence and french Insurance, what will they say ?

Your Right. Build it Drive it and have fun.
In Holland I think there going to complain on the fact you have no bonnet. So by an accidant you can get more damage or injury. Ít doesn't matter if you're Dutch, French, German, Etc.
But I drove my 2cv without bonnet for one time and it looks great and you get lots of reaction. |

Okay...
Geoff, you don't feel like saying that i live at your place do you ?
(nudge nudge say no more )
It could stay on NWP336P and be street legal, I could get a british licence, and insurance, and away I go
No ? okay
I'll see how it goes... When I'm driving my Hot Rod, the police don't bother really, despite the fact that it's obviously got about 400 extra horses...
The thing with Speed-O-Grave is that they know what a 2cv is...
I'm not that bothered really... I'm more concerned about getting the bugger finished _________________ "That bumper fits there like sunglasses on pig" O.E.

Well you are in France or you aren't
Can't you get an English registration on it and than import the Speed-O-Grave into France? In the Netherlands they have to accept a car once it has been allowed in the UK based on some EU law... should work the same way in Germany by the way, although should... cause I heard those TuV guys are tough and have funny rules which they apply very strict.
Cheers, Bart |
