I like the orange/red colour that's on it right now. Black details, maybe a grey stripe or scallop or pinstripe. I like the extended wings and rear and the sunvisor, don't so much like the sides under the doors. Replace with big sidepipes that run the length of front and rear doors at both sides, please.

If it were my car I'd make some more mods. I wouldn't fit a rear bumper, close the third side window and remove the front bumper and stretch the bonnet and front wings down the same amount as the sides and rear. Avoid that spoiler/bumper thing that the racers use, though.

Thanks Spookend/Bart. There is a chrome trim that runs along the centre of the sill panel under the doors so this helps to break up the bulk of it.
The other thing to consider is, if i paint it dark grey or black it wont notice so much.
The other thought i've had is to bring the exhausts out through the sill at the front and run them the full length with turnouts at the end.
OR run the exhausts down both sides behind the sill and exit them through a hole in the just in front of the rear wing.
OR NO torpedo silencers, just the cross over box and just have 2" bore pipe exiting out the sill just behind the frontwings, drag style (my favorite Very Happy ).
What do you think??? Cool

That's what I think, and then remove the sills and have just the pipes running under the original sills.

That looks spot on Tony. What a great idea for making it look lower but still retaining driveability. That chrome sill trim will certainly help break up the bulk of it and with a gap in the chrome where the exhaust exits the sill. I did a little trick with mine when I changed it to side exit. Used part of the tail section and cut it at an angle along the bend (hard to describe) which gives a sweet teardrop shaped exit to the pipe.
Yep, I like that mate, proper lateral thinking. I could do the same to my blue '84 Special and call it "The Blue Max". Hee hee!

I guess you mean a 45 % angle cut in a round pipe?

I think it would look great in black. You won't have any dividing colors then. Like the rubbers around the doors, they are always black, and will "mess up" the overall clean look i think.

The side-pipe would be great, but, i would not let it get in fornt of the side panel, you will burn your legs then.

for maltese/iron cross use shape what we see in Red Baron HotRod/ this example:

to awoid baggy look.

Paint job is most visible thing in car and it should be made nice to keep
car look COOL. So its good to ask someone whit artistic skills to desing it.
Version where cross goes over rear window could be cool after some fixing.

This is the latest idea based on what some of you have said. Exhaust exiting out the side (drag style). Spinners fitted to front wheels with three coloured rims satin/gloss black with red rim. Chrome trim on the sill, chrome bumpers front and rear (black in the drawing), alloy grill and chrome headlamps. Full hood with NO rear window (got mirrors) but long enough to cover steel bootlid. Alloy inserts on engine covers with iron crosses cut out (circles on the drawing) to let the heat out of the engine bay.
Green or Red tinted windows for the retro drag race look and the IRON CROSS on the rear wing but more like the one Ollie shows rather than mine.
Body colours are- main body SATIN BLACK and the darker bits are GLOSS BLACK.
Thats it at the moment but that will change again no doubt before spray day Confused Wink .

This is the next car in my garage. Friends of mine have just got a large dog from a relative of theirs and they do not have enough room in the 2cv. I am going to convert their 2cv into an estate car as the picture above Cool .
Should be fun Wink Very Happy

that's cool! I've seen an estate 2cv in a Planète 2cv it looks good. and about your car, I really like the short exhaust drag-style. It would be very loud with front windows opened!
