'Cause you think a Hot Rod is a safe car to crash in ? front brakes or no front brakes doesn't change much in case of an impact...

I would like to have front brakes on my car. Especially if I had a 400+ hp light hotrod with no crumple zone, airbag etc.

You can have very big brakes on the rear wheels but during braking, most of the weight shifts to the front wheels. So no pressure on the rear tires and only skidding.

i totally agree with you bart. i have driven some cars with bad front brakes and the only thing your going is sideways when braking.

Of course...

my point is, that when you're driving a Hot rod (not a 2cv without fenders), weight approx 1000 kg (500 kilos of engine and Gearbox), packing out 450 BHP (in my case)

With 1940s drum brakes on all corners...

You tend to be careful when you drive it... in other words, you don't stick to peoples ass, and you make sure no one is trying to assfuck you either.

I always keep a sensible distance in presence of traffic...

it's when there's no one around that I tend to rip the tires... Wink

Well, if I have to be careful all the time when people are around me on the road, I might as well stay home. Where I live, there is no time when you have the road to yourself.

I really like hotrods, also the one you have Jozef, but for me it's more about driving pleasure than looks so I really would like a car with decent brakes and suspension. I don't mind about airbags and EPS UPC SATNAV & stuff but I don't want to end up backwards in a ditch when I have to brake in a corner.

If I can't have decent braking and suspension in a hotrod, then no hotrod for me.

i think that a real hot rod is more a "show car" than a real car!

It s just for fun on meetngs areas!

Yep, front arms on the rear tube. then you weld the kingpins so that the wheels no longer turn...

Just like a 4x4 2cv.

Only for our 4x4s we make new rear arms that are stronger!!

Here are some being constructed...

i never drive Hot Rod! (i ve in project to buid one)
but i mean, when you build a car with no front brakes, with rear wheels drive, with hard suspension ( or no !) it s more for fun and show as a daily used one!

I think that drive a "Hot Rod Deuch" everyday in France is a big Dream!
first cause: Security! second cause: Cops! third cause: Confort!!!

kind of works i want to do... but i work more with pens than with tools...

and sorry if shocked you!
