HEY!

I would love to come over and have the front end of the Ami expertly painted! I am bein more and more tempted... how about on this thread ideas and photoshops can be posted of my Ami front end with some "special" paint scheme... (i dont want to paint the body, just panels!)
I need ideas of time and costs too.... just to be annoying... I need to buget as i have a large mortgage and 3 cars! could be a road trip for us UK snailers!

Many thanks!

TIM

Well, start of with a nice front 3/4 picture of your car then. I'll light up with some friends and see what we can come up with Very Happy

Hmm seems to me before we start dreaming of color, there are some rust issues to deal with, as well as a big dent on the doors.

Can't really see in the pictures if it needs welding but I can see that this job will not be done in 1 or 2 days.

All the structural rust has been cut out - it has new floors, sills etc - i think TIMMY has new doors & wings etc. It will be a solid car, not a rusty one! Wink

the body has been worked on to replace floors and sills but the panels are fairly gash. I am hopefully getting some better doors as these ones are rusty and have holes from the Club trims and the front panel has rust and a hole or two. I have some better front wings but still not ideal.

Like you say... it may be worth doing the prep work or waiting abit longer and saving for better or new wings and just use the car with bad paint for now... then do a proper job on proper parts...

theres nothing to stop us coming to visit for a wknd stil tho? would be fun! Same as if you guys want to come over here, just let us know and we can sort something out

cheers

TIM

I'll be there mate, hope to go in the Pop if I can get it finished in time. You going in the Tatra of the Tiki wagon as I would love to shoot either in person.
The Hayride is the best event I have been to in ages and I think they are going to the raceway again which isn't to be missed.
Be interesting to see the reaction of the "Hardcore" rodders if some hoodride 2cv's turned up Cool
Be nice if JoZef could get over in his Rod Laughing Laughing

I was at the Oldstyle weekend in Sweden last two years. Very nice, they have a hillclimb, also spectacular. Atmos very laidback.

I'm not sure which car I'll take. I am having such 8888ing trouble getting the Tatra electrics sorted. Have to find a good dynamo somewhere. Would be nice to take two cars. Have a friend drive the Tiki Wagon in case parts fall off the Tatra.

Isnt that the weekend of Rochefort? I will be at the UK 2cv 24hour race at Snetterton that weekend if so, but i think it would certainly be good to get some half decent A series cars along to a rod meeting. Just to see the reaction if anything. Im sure some would think they were cool and other would rather we left immediatly Laughing
