I know, I promised not to post any more crappy cars but this is a warning as well. This guy

http://www.marktplaats.nl/index.php?url=http%3A//auto.marktplaats.nl/kitcars/149170491-te-koop-2cv-hot-rod.html%3Fxref%3D1

is Danny Blaauw, of Blaauw 2CV cars and he calls himself a 2cv "specialist". I have known him now for several years and have seen a lot of his work. He is a first class *******. He delivers **** work (yes, with a capital *), rips off his clients, doesn't pay the bills of his suppliers and he shamelessly copies any and all initiatives from other people that seem succesful.

Oh, did I mention he delivers **** work? Avoid this guy at all cost!

@ punky:

No, he hasn't ripped me off. I have been fortunate enough never to have bought anything from him. I saw his work first when he started building rolling chassis for Burton car company in 2001. There was a list of 115 things wrong with the first one. That's when I could see he doesn't know what he is doing.

During the last 7 years, I have seen many of his cars, at Citromobile for example and the kit cars as well as 2Cv's he has for sale look like they have been built by a group of blind monkeys with down syndrome.

The last car I saw was an Ami which he had promised to fit with a new rear wing and spray it. The rear wing wasn't new, it was the old one, patched up with polyester, the color of the paint did not match, there were paint runs all over and he hadn;t bothered to mask off the rest of the car so the paint was on the rubbers, the trim, the windows, etc. The owner of the car had to pay 800 euros for that and when I spoke to him, he was almost in tears.

Also, I know of several parts suppliers where he is not welcome anymore because he doesn't pay his bills. He has to travel more than 30kms for his cars to get APK because there is no company closer than that who wants to do it for him.

People like this make me very mad. They cheat people out of their money, mess up innocent cars and worst of all, a lot of people in the 2CV business know about him and don't do anything about it.

If I can save only one person from being ripped off by this guy by telling you all this here, it will be well worth it.

Freedom of speed! If only.

Not here in Holland, anyway.
