It's a very nice litle HY van.

I think its possible to remake it. Old 2cv chassis whit strong engine and an old body of a Citroen HY van. Make them a litlle bit smaller and taaadaa you've got a replica of a Citroen G van.

I walk couple off years ago to do this same thing. only time, space you know the typical problems Cool Wink

maybe is an other one thats says.....i will made the G.

Thanks for the extra photos, they will help.
Has anyone got any ideas how they got the steering to work??
The only steering box/system that i have seen that might work (if i could get one that is) is the forward control type steering box on the military 4wheel drive vehicle the afarench army used for carrying ammunition on the battle field etc.
Any ideas anyone??? Neutral

Tony, if you are talking about the fardier Lohr, it seems that it 's using two Citroen HY steering boxes.
First one, turned upside down, connected to the steering system of the 2cv, the second one, put up front, connected to the first one through a shaft, ET VOILA! Wink

Seems like a possibility

Anyway, you wouldn't be building a replica, but something functional.

I would so like to see you build a Type G copy than your 6 wheel Jag engine AZU

Lionel, thanks for that i had'nt even considered it. I will see what i can get hold of and give it a go as the steering was the only real obstacle in my way Cool Very Happy .
Jozef, i tend to agree Neutral

+1

Rear fender is interesting. Its really close to Azu's fender, just placed backwards! Azu was relased 3 yrs later.

The first snail HY? or maybe better to make a replica off a citroen G off it.

first gonne be fix the old engine. its standing still for a couple years.
The last year that he driving was in 1991. long long time ago.
But its gonne be good.

Tony, can you imagine how EXCELLENT would be a Type G just like you describe before (lower, surf etc)? It would be just terrific in a 2CV meeting... and for sure the only one!
You just have to make good blue prints to get the good size of the different panels... it's important if you don't want it looks like a toy!

Do it! Do it!! Please!! lol

You should start to make something cool with it... Is it possible to lower an H?
I had one 5 years ago, but I didn't really check the suspension... héhé!

Here is it (with 20 years old Etienne lol) :

Hey,

I've been to Retromobile on sunday.

I've taken about 40 photos of the G van, both outside and inside the van.

I'll try to put it online on the WE.
