The age doesn't matter.
It's the spirit that counts!
This punk is 25.
When I was 18 i drove a purple 2cv streetmachine with large wheels.
Since a few years we have our green pick-up.
And now we are building an other one to drive off road.
Greetings |

I'm 26 years old, and my deuche is 22 :)
I grew up in an identical blue 2cv6 '82 that my parents bought as new, 2 months before i was born. Until i was 16, that car was just as normal to me as any other car. Unfortunately the car needed a complete engine rebuild together with some serious bodywork. The car was taken apart and later most parts were given away to some 2cv drivers we faintly knew.
Shame really, i always thought i would get it once i turned 18. Now, since 1 year, i am living the dream with my own blue deuche. No other color for me :) |

PUNK ....I've never been a "punk" .....I've always been a "Old Rocker" [aka Greaser/Biker ] .....I'm nearly 59,I've been riding 'bikes since 1966 and I bought my first twin pot [a 1971 Dyane4] in 1973 ....I've had short periods without a bike since then, but I've always had at least one 2CV or Dyane for the last 36 years.
It was the fact that the Dyane was the nearest thing which I could find to a four wheeled motorbike which got me into twin pot Citroens all those years ago....[the 2CV was not available in the UK until 73? / '74? ]
Punk ....Indeed .....
best regards

Hi Terry.
Thank God, somebody on here I can relate to! I've had bikes since I was legally allowed to in 1973 (just missed being allowed to ride without a helmet). Best Brit bike I had was a '59 AJS 650 CSR. Sold it to get married. BIG mistake! 2CVs since about '83 although my Dad had a '66 since about '68 so I was well aware of them pretty early on. Missed out on all the fads. I was always either too young or too old, so I now have several skateboards, an '81 PK Ripper BMX bike (dead rare), half a dozen surfboards and a '74 Ducati 250 Desmo. Too old for all of them really but, what the hell, you only pass this way once so try everything! Also, my family hails from Harrogate originally, so I'm a Northerner at heart. I'm 51 by the way.
I'd have guessed you were 'mature' by the way you signed off... "Best regards".

Hi, I thought I was old. 51 at the moment.
My rides were 2cv club 1976 and 1977, 2cv spécial 1977 without 3rd sidewindows, GSA break 1980, Acadiane 1980.
Now a drive a 2cv spécial 1990.
Because I live in Holland a had the oppurtunity to be a mod and a rocker.
I owned a Lambretta TV 175 1963, a Vespa Sprint 150 1965, a Yamaha XS 650 Heritage Special 1983 and recently I sold my Honda Shadow VT 1100 C from 1992.
Greetings to you all, young and old! _________________ http://muskies-aircooled.skynetblogs.be/

Hi "Brooky" ....I suspect we may know each other.
My nickname at school was "Brooky" [for obvious reasons]
Are you a 2CVGB member?
My car [the red one]?
Our old trailer ...since replaced by a white/blue one [same make/style & reg no]
My dog?
Do the pics ring any bells .....
I've no pics of me ....I'm a big fat ugly b*****d
But come and say "Hi" sometime this summer .... ...We'll be at most of the major 2cvgb camps.
best regards

Hi Terry.
I'm not sure we do know each other, except via this forum. I was in 2CVGB for a while many years ago. I had an orange '81 Club UAY 851X ( I think).
The photos are nice but don't mean anything to me I'm afraid. So I guess your surname is Brook as well. Proper Northern surname that, aye lad!
Maybe see you in the summer but not so sure as we're hoping to move to North Devon, if we can ever sell our bloody house!
'Best regards', Brooky

Yep
The old car belonging to jonathan(spanners). Managed to cure the numerous oil leaks, changed the oil pressure sender and fitted correct carb. Now running really well but didnt come with the Ami Super wheels so trying to source some decent wheels and tyres as its on 125's at the moment.Perhaps should move this to the your ride section Etienne |

I'm 29 ('80 vintage) while my 2CV6 is 32 years of age. I've owned it since 2001 and it is my first car.
My dad had a red 2CV4 when I was small. It was our family's daily transport until it was replaced by a GS Break in the early eighties. I'm pretty sad we didn't have room to save the old 2CV4, would have been a great rat rod project. :) |
