Hello,

although I don't own a customized 2cv I love seeing them....

I have an original grey AK350 from 1970, a beige 1976 AZU tolée, and a 1957 AZU with Visa Engine on GPL. Now I am creating a 2cv Special 1978 without the 3rd window. It is a rare red one that was only built for Dutch market. In France they only did the yellow Special sans vitre custode. Jaune Cedrat. Mine will be Rouge Geranium.

Deuchement votre,

Martijn

Hey Martijn, and welcome here!

This one was your? It seems funny! Do you more pics of it?

Great idea, to cut and weld the complete "custode". The shape will be perfect, great!

Hey Martijn,

on Snail forum you have to buy a high AK400 and chop it yourself! Wink Very Happy It looks real good, I hope to see it soon.

Martijn, I would mount dark blue 400 rims on your AZU, lower it just a tiny bit in the front, take a narrow headlight support and your car is finished! Cool

I would take the blue like the front wheel of the A (very cool car by the way):

Very dark grey wheels would be nice too. Good luck!

Hi Sam,

Yes, I was already considering dark blue for the rims just as baby blue and black. Even orange came up. I don't know it yet.
Making the headlight support smaller was actually the first thing to do on the list. I am hating the cars look because of the wide bar since I started driving the car in 2002. Wink
...It just hasn't been good weather to adept it, until now... hahaha...

About the 400 rims I don't know yet because now I have only two of them and I do also like the Ami Super rims. So we'll see. Also the 400 tires are more expensive and harder to get. And since this is my daily driver....

I was irritating myself for years when I saw my 57 AZU with the wide headlightsupport. But I finally shortened it last weekend with 6cm on each side. I think it looks a lot better like this.
Now I need two new frontwings and put the old back doors in with the oval windows. Maybe next weekend Wink

At a speed of 100km/h the suicidedoor was blown open by the wind on the highway.
Too bad the door folded around the back part of the van which left it's marks behind...

Pretty strange thing to see you door vanish from your car in a split second...

So it was a bit cold on the way back... Wink

Shocked

Lucky you, you didn't fly out !

A friend of mine falled out of an H van around 80km/h... He broke his 2 legs... Confused

Once I lost the roof on the highway, it was impressive ! I guess the door it's even more !

Though luck, dude. You are lucky you were not hurt. That's why they are called suicide doors and why they were forbidden in Holland on the HY.

I had the bonnet of a Burton on my head while driving once. It was before the safety hook (with the catch) was mandatory. I was only driving 40-50 when it happened but it caused a major headache and ruined the bonnet, front windscreen and my good mood.

I have been braking few doors like that Confused
I dont really see danger moment on it... Maybe some pieces of glass can
fly on you, but droping out is quite imbossible, at least if you used to drive
hands on steering wheel.

Then I made this system for my AzuSuper... I didnt want to experiense
door opening at 150km/h
