No no, If you really want one. I would go with one of these really simple
designs, like here. Why not also that "up of the rear window"- model,
at least you could use the roof with it.

my thoughts exactly! as much as I like the o.l.d. design it disables the canvas top and the rear "above the window" thing is also a roofrack but with more options opened, you can still pack it with a old rim and a retro cooler and have people stickin' through the roof using that retro cooler on the road...and i could still also open the rear door...what i don't like about it is that it looks like a racing wind deflector/spoiler kind of thingie
must say that I'm BIG fan of a roofrack on a old car (also on a new car if there is some that looks cool and "in tune" with the car - not like a coffin bolted to the top)
I like the idea of this (allthough a bit to big, smaller would look nicer...I'm talking about a roofracke hehe)
but would hate to end up with sth like this

hehe I still have that idea but moving it from a idea to fact got a bit more difficult because i've returned from Vegas this summer married to the owner of that ami....and she kinnda hates that idea ...but Tibo59 is arriving to Croatia next week for a visit so maybe we'll team up against to drop it a bit ...if not to cut up the floors
well this is unfortunatly just a joke and that ami will stay high....for the time being

a bit of a update....in my thought and wishes to put more accent on the rusty rims I've decided to try with the whitewall rings (they were awfully cheap so I couldn't resist )
also hat to put the rear underthebumper turn signals to pass the MOT, I'll also have to mount some turn signals at the front (I'm thinking fiat 500 side lights - circa 3cm wide) under the headlights for that stupid MOT, and some "cat eyes" at the rear, also I'll go back with red lenses for the tail lights...
next is finally finishing the interior.... |

so, I've got my MOT last weekend, (also got for that a paeir of rear reflectors from bicycle, and a new pair of turnsignals now my car is ready for christmass - it twinkels a lot)
besides that I've rebuilt the front suspension, new bearings, kingpins, lubricated everything and fixed on the car - now it feels like I have servo steering hehe.
did a lot of thinking about turning the ends of the "arms" for low riding but decided not to do it because I don't have a jig to make the change in...maybe some other time. I've consulted Louis Barbour (he is living near by now) about that and he convinced me not to do it...for now
so, here are my front bridge before mounting to the car
