Hi!

I picked up Ami8 '70 from nearby Amsterdam. I just game home this morning after 40 hours awful cruise (only boat, driving with Ami was fest, even it is slow comparing my Orange). In some points there was over 20m/s wind...

I will add some pictures when I have those in net.

Rear seats? What do you mean? There is normal sofa.

This morning I was showing the car to the MOT office. When I wait my turn I listened music and swung a little bit. Suddenly I went back to top of rear seat. The backrest snapped.

The officer just laughed and said that the checking is passed. You will fix that backrest anyway... Laughing

It was funny to drive home like H-D. Foot and hands on the front without backrest.

What comes to future changes, some tuning under hood must be done. Shocked

Hi!

I got a offer for a double exhaust. What is the price if I don't have Y- or H-pipe, just two separate pibes from exhaust header?

How it effects compared with a) original exhaust b) Y-pipe?

Edit: There seems to be some discussions around the subject already...

Hi, I can't judge the double exhaust you have been offered, you can win power with it, but just as easy loose out...

As I said in the other topic, an (bigger) empty first silencer with a straight pipe out rather than a second silencer worked well for me but the price you pay is noise...
I have also been involved in the development of the exhaust discussed here: http://snail.s4.bizhat.com/viewtopic.php?t=652. I can confirm what superfin said there, moreover I have one on my own car now and it is great (with the right jet settings), a bit noisier tough.

If you want one of those, you can order them from ECAS of Pierre Focant (bypf@scarlet.be) and I think they will be for sale on the WM as well. Price is about 210 euro's if I'm right.
The empty crossbox option is home work of course, so you could do that much cheaper.

I desided to do only sound tuning (maybe later something more). I bought 1,5m 40 mm pipe where is 45 degrees bending. I will replace side silencer with that.
