Hello,

I'm looking for some good close-up pictures of lightened 400 rims like often seen on the UMAP and Dagonet.

Thank you.

I have been thinking to make tool to press those kind a holes (one by one)
on old 400 wheels. But my time is limited. Confused My idea of tool would press the
shape of hole and cut it.

Cool idea, but that tool would require a lot of pressure to cut out the rim wouldn't it ?

Question

Yes, I think you would need lots of pressure to have those holes cut. That part of the rim is slightly curved and quite thick (1,5/2mm?) The easiest solution would be to have the holes cut by laser and afterwords hammer the metal border to the inside to obtain the round shape.

Olli, don't forget Rampe's really brutal tool, what was used for cutting 10mm metal sheets by pressing, and it made several big holes in one second easily... Cool

Just make tools what cut hole and bend borders at same time with this machine from hell...

Yep, probably with the same machinery, looks heavy.

But still no good pictures. Nobody who has UMAP driving friends or Clôd who was doing all the research on the Dagonet? Cool

The press would do the job. You need a die (negative shape) and a positive shape out of hard metal. Then press and repeat, press and repeat...
