Anyone got any information on this car? I like the look of it and it seems to have had a good roof chop.
I'm still gathering ideas for my car _________________ In-the-Shed Speed Shop. |

Hey!
Yes of course, it's the car of "Fred", a nice guy well known on 2cv meetings!
I made a small article about his car two years ago. There is some good ideas, but it could be better... I'm still thinking the fenderless looks weird on a 2CV because the engine is too much on the front.
I've seen Fred once month ago and he told me he also wants to buy ply tires for a better hot rod style! _________________ www.super2cv.com |

If you have access to the article Etienne I would like a look please
I have to agree about the front end but being front wheel drive (and me not being an engineer ) I don't suppose there is much you can do about it. I also agree there are things I would change, mainly fit a rear window and some old Ford wire wheels _________________ In-the-Shed Speed Shop. |

Olli has an idea about it, with some works everything's possible!
But I'm 100% sure the best way is to keep the front fender! And for sure, it's possible to have an "hot rod" style with fenders. Btw many "real" hot rod have fenders!
In all possibilities, before start work on your project : make a sketch or a photoshop. It's the best way, to check some ideas!

I quite agree Etienne, but I am a real sucker for the "Bonneville" style Hotrods, low and fenderless. I am looking a different styles for my build but I would like to do something a little different with my car.
Once this one is built I am thinking about building another with the engine in the back (like the 4x4 Sahara's) no front engine and a Ford Pop axle mounted on a suicide perch out front. Very much like this photo shop of Olli's
Or fit a 1300-1600cc Ford or similar engine in the front with a narrowed axle in the rear so many idea's so little money _________________ In-the-Shed Speed Shop. |

Hey Shaun, you have the same idea as me . I'm starting on my new project soon . Channelled 2CV van, SIX WHEELS, with probably a FORD V6 2.8 Granada engine and AUTO box fitted in the rear. This will have a propshaft going to the front of the car, driving a JAG rear axle diff (inboard disks) fitted where the engine used to be and connected to the front driveshafts, driving the front wheels. Radiator and oil cooler up front with fuel tank. Should cruise all day at 90-100mph and do some monstrous front wheel burnouts .
I have done some scale drawings based on a shortened chassis that i had already done and even with SIX wheels it will still be four inches shorter than a standard 2cv and very low. Should look cool,(i hope). _________________ If it works ok, "LEAVE IT THE FUCK ALONE". |
