Hi everyone!
Here's my channelling projekt : a '82 Dyane...
I bought that car for 200 euros in june 2006. I drove it a little bit and started to work on it in august.
The day when I bring the Dyane home (have fun and look to my hoodride 2cv6 in first step):
After few weeks I decided to buy an other body shell, this one was so rusty and full of filler. Example :
and here the new body shell I bought in november 2006 :
After that I worked on the chassis, and since february, my garage was full and I didn't work on that car...
But last week, I sold my ami6 and I restarted to work on the channelling projekt! Here the Olli's photoshop, it's really close of what I wanna do!

So the chassis is ready :
And the body shell has no floor anymor! I started to weld the back part 12 cm higher (the part between rear wheels).
Pics of the channelling later when it will look like something!
But here the technic description :
- 12 cm channelling
- Modified angle front axle
- Stronger springs and shock absorber
- longer fenders and doors to hide the side of the down part of the body shell
- 13" wheels to totally fit in fenders
- radical interior : no heating, no soundproofing... just 2 seats, one steering wheel, one shifter, speed-o-meter!

Whow, well cool! please keep posting I'm very interested to see your experiances, since I consider to channel my AZ project. I will start a topic about that car soon, but right now I only have pieces, although some already rebuild (chassis & suspension) and now time jet to assamble the chassis or seriously look further.
Good luck with the work, Bart |

Haha, waiting to see....
On the photoshop, I do not like the rear panel with the lights on it. Perhaps it could be tunneled. _________________ Don't ask me what I think of you 'cause I might not give the answer that you want me to.

I think 13" wheels will look good and not too small because 2cv/dyane are really small car and look even smaller when they are low...
On Olli's photoshop, wheels are smaller than original one, and it's cool.
But that I will see later.... in reality! _________________ www.super2cv.com |

13 inch wheels might look alright, but do they fit on a standard front suspension arm. There is a chance that the rims thouch the bottum end of the kingpin.
Other thing is, will the engine still fit under the bonnet when the whole lot comes 12cm down??? A late 2cv bonnet should be alright, but I don't know about dyane or ripple bonnets.
Ciao, Bart |

Hey, I know a Dyane with GSA engine and it fits under the bonnet without lenghtening it. If you channel 12cms, you may have to relocate the airfilter but then it should pose no problems.
As for front wheels, that is a problem. You can fit Smart tyres or change the front fenders.
Here's some pics of the lowest 2CV channeling job. If anybody knows this guy, maybe we can ask him to explain some things. He was in Vinadio, 2003 and is from belgium.

Thanks for posting mor pics of that car Bart!
About engine, look to the frame:
Yes the engine is lower!
I have another idea, but you'll see when I'll be there!!
About 13" wheels, it should fit. Limbo Rock had 13" wheels on the front:
But all that are details. When you start such a job, you solve details at the end! _________________ www.super2cv.com |

You are right, you can only solve such things as you arrive at the point where they have to be solved. Before you can think a lot about it but it always seems to come out different.
As for the front seat, I would fit a rear seat instead. It's a lot lower and very comfy. _________________ Don't ask me what I think of you 'cause I might not give the answer that you want me to.

BTW: look at the bumper on the green car on the left. Is nice.
And oh yeah, Are those burn marks from the tyres on top of the rear wheelarches?
You can also see on the front view clearly that the front wheelarches were adapted. The inner lip was ground out. _________________ Don't ask me what I think of you 'cause I might not give the answer that you want me to.
