Her you go. Little note. the box is replaced by a more solid one. 18 mm mdf all round, this one i blew up, hahaha.

Building a new 90 Liter box right now for a massive 15 inch woofer, will show images later.

Sunday morning, maded an "amp-rack" behind the seats.

last nights work, with a friend of mine.

80 liters netto, poort of 25 cm, 240 cm2 surface..................

Gonna house a 15 inch woofer.

This box is to be put in when i have a db contest. The 2nd amp is out of use wheb that big box is out of the 2cv. The box will fit perfectly over the floormounted woofer, and that one will be turned off when the large one is in.
So i have best of 2 worlds, lol, a good all round sound just for every day use, and a boom box for the contests. Upcomming sunday we have acontest, so it will be messured, and i will know if my box building skills have improved, lol.

I have finally found something i was really looking for.
The state is near mint, little bit of "flyrust" but nothing a bit of sanding can't cure. It will be fitted with a modern way of sliding in the thing into the roof. And, it needs to be shortened about 4 cm. Then i can keep my safarie bumper and have this boot.

And, since i don't wash my car (2cv+water=rust) i have to repaint it like once every 2 years. And, i had to put on some "new" parts, since the old once were gone beyond repair, i had to repaint any way.
This is the color it will be. I have not seen it in daylight, so, it might be to shiny" in wich case it will be sanded down to a shine i can live with.

Hi Spookeend!

Cool system. You're not alone in your interest, I had a pretty good system installed in my 2CV in 2003-2004, but I took it out when I headed to Mexico for a year's worth of student exchange and needed the money..

Check out some of the pictures that I posted into this thread:

http://snail.s4.bizhat.com/viewtopic.php?t=72

I competed in EMMA Sound quality competitions in the summer of 2003 with this system and got 3rd place in the Finnish championship series Pro 600W class. The winner also won best of show at the European finals so it was a tough class. Very Happy It was fun competing even with the numerous challenges that the 2CV presents. Or should I say because of the numerous challenges.

I have heard rumours about a 2cv competing in EMMA, but since the dude who told me, was not even sure if it was a 2cv or a bug(beetle) i thought it was a hoax, lol

Awsome to see it is true, and that you won 3rd place in your class.
I would like to see more images, and if you like ( i would like it a lot) i could post some of them on my site, to show people more about audio and 2cv in Holland.

You could send me an e-mail if you are interrested in a "showcase" on my little site.

Some "minor" problem with painting the 2cv. All doors and fenders worked out great. I applied the same paint on the 2cv itself, and something really weird happened. The paint fell off....................
What came off had the same structure of tarmac, when it is just poored on the road, really weird, i had to scrape it all off again. Result is a little worse paint on my 2cv then i intended, but hell, it's painted, lol

Sanded the 2cv again, and started over.

And then the horrible task of putting it all together without scatching the fresh paint.

An adjustment i made when i had the car for a few years, Those are door strips, from a backdoor. I had them on for a short while, years and years ago, and then i hit another car, had to replace a fender, and never put them back on. Now i did again, i really like the idea of that alu look going on after the robri.

My rear door windows, with the alu strip in the rubber. I polished a little, so it matches the frontdoor window covers better.

Started on a project for a freind of mine, who is restoring a 2cv to a red bling machine. He is no original reak, but he has got all those robries. All of them, even for the exhaust he has one, really cool, but they are pretty worn.

My dad has a proffesional polishing kit, and after an hour lesson, i began with the robries. It takes about an hour a piece, but they shine like new ones then, reall chroom look.

I have to say, now seeing all those shiny parts, it gets me doubting, maybe i will do mine aswell, lol

Well, yeah, uhm, we had a dirt ride, and i hit a little pole, just after i finished repainting it, damn...........

I thought of letting it be there, as mark for that cool ride, but, well, it was kinda to much of a dent to leave there.

So, i started with a hammer and a piece of lead and started pounding the metal. Never done that in this way, hahaha. Well, i guess if you take the time, it will be like new, but that was not my goal. I like it like this. I repainted the bit the paint fell off, and found the time to finally name my 2cv. Something that needed to be done for years, but i never set myself to doing it for real.

I got a few more pix on my website.

Ok, it's been a while, but, still riding the damned old ragged 2cv.
You might know (images in the first pages are gone, sorry) i am in to car-audio. Just started upgrading my system, it just wasn't loud enough anymore, lol. Nah, kiddin', just, well, more quality on higher volumes.

And the World meeting in France coming up, i need to have it all in good place and playing perfect!

So, designing a new subwoofer box. Called a Bandpass box, sealed at one end, ported at the other, a bit complicated, not only because of the shape of the boot of a 2cv.

So, started my second shaped box. The first one was a little rude, this is more perfected. Not ready yet, it's much work, but trying to get it there before the meeting.

Making the rounded shape by layering and gluing up several layers of 4 mm MDF, bend in to the rounded shape.

Fixating the thing to keep it in shape while drying the glue

The bottom attached.

Making space for the extra battery.

Gonna be something nice, not only wood, also some other materials will be used, more appealing to the eye!!

The front set upgraded from a 2 way to a 3 way set.

More damping and noise killing and finishing some eye works, to make it look nicer.

The sound is allready enourmous, even without a subwoofer. The 16 cm are playing from 60 Hz, and function for the kickbass. Then the 13 cm's share the mid and mid high playing from 100 Hz, and the tweets kick in from 2500 Hz.

Really hope to finish the new sub woofer box, but if not, i have a sub to take with me to the meeting, but that is my competition set-up, little to loud for only music really.
