I have the va1-vd1 ignition unit for visa motor but dont have the connector,
if I have to hard wire it does anyone know which wire goes where? I have the "cats" diagram but not sure as it shows numbering left to right as 654 21 87 is this correct
Many thanks

Does this make any help..?

Pin number:

1. Ground
2. Vacuum unit
3. (No contact)
4. 2. proximity detector (static advance)
5. 1. proximity detector (maximum advance)
6. Supply
7. Ground
8. Coil

And the numbering in Haynes Manual is 6542178. I don't really remember why it is numbered that way..?

Trying to remember, maybe I solved this by measuring these ground -pins, and after that thinking (from opened box) how it should connect..?

It was about 15 years ago when I need to solve it, and never needed again that knowledge, so thats the reason why it is so hard to remember...

Many thanks guys for your help, but it still doesnt clear up in what order the actual pins on the unit are numbered,if I knew it was 1to 8 left to right or 1to 8 right to left then I can connect up without blowing up the unit. Im really frustrated as engine is finished fitted to car but not able to run it !!!
Cheers for your help

I understand that number one is in at left and eight is at right. Also asked from my friend who has quite much Visa-experience, and he told they would be same way...

If the numbers are correct then viewed from the top number one is on the left en number 8 is on the right.

if I remember correctly, the numbers are on the connector, so there you can see what is 1 and what is 8

I connected several visa computers and never had problems with it (only the first time, I put the wires in the same order as they are in the scedule Embarassed )

greetzzzzzzzzzzz
