not true, I agree, I think that car looks hideous, BUT it is of interest because I can look at it and see ways of doing things to my car inspired by it, for instance, the way front door parts have been used in the rear doors, just because something modified isnt fashionable any more, doesnt mean we cant use ideas and inspiration to make things which do look good and are cool nowadays.

Im obviously not suggesting we start making cars look like they did in the 80s, or that posting loads of pictures here of them is what I want to see, just that even in cars like that I can see things i can adapt to be cool now and therefore Ugly things can be of interest!

Safe.

Right then, as for good looking, red oxide primer with grey flames, airbrushed black shadows around the edges?

If it's just to show ugly things there is no interest. And only real custom from 80s. Not custom made now look like 80's, you know what I mean?

Hi Etienne...

It was just provocation...

I've understood the Snail forum concept : it is certainly not a 80's custom forum, ans I won't contaminate it Wink

I know a special topic on an other forum to make it ...
Wink

See you later...

Apologies, since it seems that looking at the picture causes pain to some folk, but can there really be a wheel stud missing off the front hub of this creation? Shocked
Ken.

I have seen one other pic in net and..... it does not look that good anymore,
side line of roof was horibble and it look like it was made in weekend.
I try to find that pic again one day but no result... Confused

btw, look where steering wheel is in that car.. yep - its in original place.

IIRC it was built by a guy called Nick Farrance - he was a well known custom car builder here in the UK - when i first met him he had a little dog called 'santa' after Santa Pod drag strip, also had a Mooneyes tattoo on his arm. He built a Ford Consul Custom that was featured in 'Street Machine' magazine back in the 80's.

The car was featured in the british 2cv calander back in 1993 or '94 - car was built in the early 90's. Nick got quite heavily into the 2cv scene, he owned & restored several A series, including a AK350, he owned a beautiful H van mini bus, or maybe am ex-mobile bank. He even started his own 2cv restoration business - 'South Oxford 2cv Centre'. He's since vanished, probably returning to the scene he originally came from........

The only pic i've got (not taken by me)

Cool

For early 90's, it was really nostalgia projekt and that is good.
But the roof looks like if a fat guy sat on it! Sad

Thanks for that pic, it's great to see that!
