Hello together

if you need a strong chassis and you have money than buy the "hoffmann stainless steel" chassis http://www.hoffmann2cv.de/de/p/chassis/rahmen
I think stainless steel is lighter but much stronger than normal steel chassis.

anyway messing about trying to bend your car is one thing

ive been off on raids with some of those guys and trust me an slc chassis is stronger than the wheels type although they are not as popular on continental Europe due to tough tuv type restrictions, they do work exceptionally well on Raid Aus. Raid Maroc(PPP) was exceptionally hard and many of our fellow raiders were very impressed with how our standard car cept up with the specials and the quality of the chassis

looking at some pictures on the web it seems that kens design detail is being copied...praise in deed!

but getting back to the original question
SLC will make you a a good chassis for your AK one that fits properly (the dimentions of some the Wheels type were wrong at the front and the wings./fenders were strained and bonnet/hood deformed) and will have all the original pick up points and any custom bits you need.

Guys, could you just, to make things clear, say who you are. Obviously you sell and build chassis, so let's not make a half-hidden publicity.

I mean, if the guys selling Wheel, or Hoffman or whatever chassis would be here, they would say the same things you're saying about other chassis... And actually they do ! Laughing

It's just like if I was talking about why Plančte 2 CV is much better than its competitor ! Wink

Ok Sean.UK abuser of a SLC chassis
not connected to SLC in any way other than chose it as it was the only one that was strong enough to do what i wanted 10 yrs ago, have become friends with Ken tho we do sometimes have opposing view on some stuff Wink

have helped with advice on many "raid" cars in the uk
mechanic and builder of 24hr race cars ( again on a "race" SLC)and engines

For 6 years a bought the Franzose galvanised chassis and because i had trouble with some parts i dicide never buy at the franzose.

Louis.

Wish I had an SLC because mine has already broken a shocker mount. Sad.
