Hey all!
i'm Sander from the far east of Holland!
i've been visiting this forum for a while now, and it's time to open a topic here about my car and the project i'm working on.
the 2CV i own is my very first car, and i like it more and more since i bought it! i drove it to work for 2-3 years. the lasts half year about 140 kms a day.
this is how i bought it, but i already changed the headlights here:
drove like this for a while:
now it looks like this:
the number 4 is on the right side only!
whitewalls are painted (and more like brown-walls, but i kinda like that). i also put a decent sound-system in it :)
now i'm going to school again, so i don't really need a car anymore. that's why i started building a pickup! i bought a shell to start with:
i'm planning to complete the cabin and bed as far as i can, and then put it on the chassis of my current car.
here i already braced it and put the new floorpans in, yes i'm channeling it to the top of the sills.
i also worked on the lower part of the firewall and the pedals, but those photo's will follow later. i'm placing the pedals at the original height.
plans for the pickup: wooden bed with steel frame; topchop, the height of the ventilation shutter; matt paint... and i got many more ideas!
tell me what you think!
cheers! |

why is everybody building pick-ups?
I prefer pickups with a roof instead of like a roadster.
there is a silver pick up roadster project that was recently finished on here |

@yellowpickup; i read the topic about that car, but i'm going to do a couple things different.
and i'm building the car with a roof at first, so you can help me decide wheather i should detach it or not
infact i put the (polyester) roof on today:
fitted the lower part of the firewall, and made a box for the pedals. and the arches between the a- and b-pillar.
i'm also working on a aluminium sunvisor.
let me hear what you think... |

There are so many chopped and "pickupped" 2cv's that have roofline or "top of the door line" awkward or plain ugly, but this looks very promising! Great work! And I want one of those too. |

luckely i did'nt pay 900 euris :d
if you do not channel the car this polyester part fits nicely, but now i got to change a couple of things.
for example i need to figure out how to attach the floorboards to the back of the polyester panel. maybe laminate it with fiberglass?
i don't know, i will work on it tomorrow :) |

You have to be more patient Harley, it takes some time for the pictures to get to Aussie country
Or rightclick on the pic, select copy image location and paste it in a new window/tab. _________________ 2CV, with Visa turbo charged |

Can't speak for anyone else, but I'm planning on building one because everything behind the front seats on mine is rusty as fuck. |

kadaver,
hope you're not forgetting about the ergonomics...
I did some work on a UK built pickup which had so little space for the driver that I couldn't sit in it, let alone drive the bl##dy thing.
ken. |

hey dyanut,
you got a point there. i am 1.92m and i haven't sat in it yet!
yesterday i glued the polyester part to the front half, so now i can cut the reinforcements out and try to sit in it.
then i'm planning on making a lowered couch and also adapt the steering column with a joint. a normal seat won't work.
so i hope i can make it comfortable for me.
one thing is sure, it's gonna have a huge blind-spot as you will sit far back behind the b-pillar. |
