He has fitted the engine into an offroad buggy... he basically worked the engine out so that it couldn't fit under a 2cv bonnet, to avoid being tempted... but apparently I've managed to get him motivated to build one for a 2cv...
Minimal Lag, because the turbo is perfectly adapted to Engine size... very efficient little beast he's got... it weighs under 350 kilos I think _________________ "That bumper fits there like sunglasses on pig" O.E.

A friend of mine has TURBO'D his Fiat 126 which has a 600cc engine.
He has used a 'LOW BLOW TURBO' from a turbo diesel Vauxhall Astra van which is feeding air thru an old Austin Metro SU type carb'. He has driven it for 40,000miles and had no problems whatsoever.
He says that he had to re-jet the carb to suit the 600cc engine, but other than that it was quite straight forward.
One thing he did say was to make sure that the Vauxhall Astra is the vrsion fitted with the ISUZU engine as these are the only ones that run the LOW BLOW system.
He now gets about 75mph in third gear and right off the speedo in fourth.
Its really impressive to drive. The engine is completely standard other than the turbo.
One of these Turbos including manifold and linkages sold on E'BAY a month ago for £25.
If i can help with any info on how he done it, please let me know.

Fuel injection, in my Dyane. Some day there is going to be Megasquirt, but now we go with Bosch Jetronic L3. Taken away from Bx 19GTi, injectors are from Sierra Cosworth(thats because there is now only two injectors instead of four), fuel pump from Seat Ibiza and so on... I put Lambda -sensor to see what is happening with engine, and surprice, mixture is quite good. And a while ago, I adjusted mixture in technical inspection, the inspector were very interested about my engine...
Some pictures there, I can't make direct linking now. Let's see after five posting...
Ignition parts are from Lada, I don't like 123-ignition, this full-compatible-with-Bosch parts are made in america... |

Hey Jasu, sounds great man, did you measure the horsepower yet? Mileage must improve too, I think? _________________ Don't ask me what I think of you 'cause I might not give the answer that you want me to.

No, I don't have place where I could measure that. In Reasonable price, one wery expensive place there is...
I think there is about same horsepower in engine that is in "normal" 602cc engine, but only important thing with it is to get it run well. It feel that there is more torque in low revs, what is nice. I'm making new engine with modified camshaft, trying to have it done in this winter (last night we had temperature slightly below zero, not good...). _________________ Make it today, tomorrow it's probably illegal... |

There is pictures about changing carburator to fuel injection.
And some pictures of electronic ignition. Quite easy way to get off the contact breaker... Parts from Lada, and funny thing with it, all parts are made in America..! _________________ Make it today, tomorrow it's probably illegal... |

Just a word to thank you Jasu, I run very quickly into your pictures, but I will have to come back and detail, this is very interesting.
Stefan, go on and tell us more about your megasquirt conversion!
I found this success story about a german guy who megasquirted his AMI8
http://megasquirt-de.serviceline.ch/success/index0001.htm
But as I don't speak a word of german ( except "nor ein bier bitte", can be usefull during meetings) so I didn't went very far... _________________ 0 to 70 in the same day! |

Hi Stefan, looks good!, do you notice a power or torque increase, with this new exhaust system compared to an original one?
Cheers, Bart |

on std cam and manifold, cross box is the best system, the dyno proved it, no change the cam and a 2 into 1 is best, dyno proves it as long as the primary and secondary pipe length is critical _________________ the older i get the more projects i start!!!!!!

not yet wasted we were talking about it at sparrows the other day, it just needs setting up on the dyno, the theory is right to work, but yet to be tried _________________ the older i get the more projects i start!!!!!!
